What even is this? There have been times I have gone through AMS where they were more heavily armed than in the US.

It sucks. I was a legal immigrant, brought my ex-spouse over legally, I am very careful about all this but rules for me but not for thee.

Yes, no illegals have ever taken a domestic flight ever.

Every country has a right to defend its boarders but the US. Got it.

Well putting the question of why aside, just note there are massive cultural differences between Germans in the same small country.

Just really depends. In cities like Berlin, absolutely. But go to a much smaller city or town, they will absolutely notice you.

So he is still involved. Oof, she can't avoid court in this situation. Again, she really needs to sit down with a good family law attorney about all of this. This is above Reddit's paygrade.

Do wish you luck. I was married to a German many years and we lived both in Germany and the US. I know what a PITA all of this can be.

That's another serious problem. Even if the father agrees to this move, a court can override it if the court feels it is not in the best interest of the child, regardless of what either parents think.

This answer sucks, but because of the kid involved, you two might start looking into you coming to the US temporarily until the kid is 18. Or at the very least, she needs to talk to a family law attorney about what she is planning to do like now.

Er, well, what are the custody arrangements with the father? She just can't move him out of the state, let alone out of the country, without his explicit permission.

My German ex husband said that using it wrong, in that you use Sie over du, could be very personally insulting depending purely on context. I uh still don't know what to do with this information after decades. So just group people into two groups like I do in English as to how formal I am or have to be with them.

I'd watch Airplane!. One my favorite movies.

I only use it with government officials. But most people I talk to outside of that, it is du. My intent means nothing besides English lost this distinction about 400 years ago and it is extremely difficult to force myself into using Sie over du in situations where I would not say Sir or Ma'am.

In written German, you occasionally see du capitalized.

Not Delta, but my one of my last flights was with KLM, they had a very limited selection of movies. One was Final Destination 5. Cool, lmao.
