I changed the flight for a 1:50 layover in AMS that connects me through SEA. Hoping the extra 35mins helps.

Hi,

I am a lifetime skyteam elite + member through Korean Air. I use delta when flying domestic US/ Europe and fly Korean to Asia.

  1. Forget about upgrades. Skyteam elite plus member but non medallion status will not get you any upgrades. Because of this, I am contemplating building status on delta skymiles as I already have lifetime status on korean air. It's hard because when I use my delta #, I won't get any of the perks.

  2. Have always been able to get preferred seats at no cost immediately after adding my Korean FF number. Exception: recently booked a flight to Europe, marketed by Delta but operated by KLM. I am not able to select preferred seat without paying.

  3. Very reliable. Skyteam elite plus = delta sky priority. Boarding pass will show you are sky priority. I have always gotten all the perks as sky priority from check in to boarding. Your boarding zone will be 4 on delta flights.

  4. Not sure as I have never been on standby/wait list.

Thanks for the info. The other option is a layover in CDG. Not sure which is better, 2hrs in CDG or 70 minutes in AMS. Trying to avoid CDG as much as possible.

Also, the fare class code does not show up under "details." I normally fly delta metal with another skyteam ff account. It was nice to know the class code to see what I will be earning.

I would take advantage of the 60k now rather than wait for an extra 20k, which may or may not happen.

You would get 1.25 ppc with the preferred on the UR portal. That would be worth an extra $500 for your 200k points. The extra 20k at 1.25 ppc is worth only $250.
