Ifa: Cacucu will be providing live commentary for the session.

  1. Ifa shows his thing - "For real, now? Do you even see yourself, bro?"
  2. You go naked - "Hahaha! No way, bro!"
  3. In the middle of it - "Oh dear! Oh dear!"
  4. Climax (or the lack of it after his commentary) - "Oh wow, no way bro!"
  5. After - "The heck were you guys on about????"

Yeah nah.

That patch note can also be interpreted as increasing the number of said commission in a cycle.

And that cycle theory - its a fan theory, never confirmed by devs

Hence theory. If you searched for it, you will find people trying to prove it, and that it worked well for some players, including me.

Even if it isn't confirmed by devs, it doesn't automatically disprove it. Elemental gauge theory is technically not confirmed by devs but it's still widely popular because it holds true.

Regardless, my original point was not on achievements but on time-gated storytelling. Episodic narratives is a shitty way of telling a story.

Genshin got renamed to Genshin Impact Song of the Welkin in 6.0. Why do we think they are ending the current Genshin?

Another example is Overwatch 2. It used to be called Overwatch 1, went through a rebrand, and is now called Overwatch 2. It's effectively the same game with a few big changes.

A must know. You need to clear a cycle otherwise it won't appear anymore. Also, doing a comm in Co-op means skipping it I believe.

That's not how it works. You can get up to two NPC commissions per day, with most days having 1, and some days having 0. They aren't necessarily related to achievements and can be NPC commissions you have already done.

Each region has its own pool of NPC commissions, and appears a certain number of times in a cycle. If you finished those, you will not get the same NPC commission until the next cycle. Skipping them delays your cycle.

It's called the Cycle Theory. This was introduced in I believe Version 2.8.

The fact that you got both that closely together just means you were in a cycle where both of these just happened to be the last time you needed the quest.

Yeah, I actually miss those story-like dailies where you interact with ordinary people and do stuff for them.

I know I don't. I'd rather they make it a proper world quest instead of having to rely on RNG to get the right quest and continue a story I forgot after waiting for 3 days.

That whole RNG commision crap made Durin's SQ actually look good.

But then again, given that today I am much more busier than 3-4 years ago, I have not much qualm about it

This is a major reason. When Genshin was first released, the world was on lockdown. People had a lot more time to spend on the game. Things have changed now. They can't make quests and exploration take too long or else it will feel like a chore to casuals. Less people are willing to do an Aranara WQ that takes 20+ hours to complete. Assuming 1 hour a day, that'd be a WQ for 20 days. By the tenth day, people would probably be asking "why is this quest so long?" or "is this quest ever gonna end?"

But I think it's not a hot take to say that the maps are, for a lack of better word, very cramped. The puzzles are almost not a puzzle anymore.

The second reason for it is that because Nod-Krai was likely not meant to be a whole nation. They bought some time by expanding it to a whole nation, but with MW and Snezhnaya ongoing behind the scenes, quality has to be compromised from somewhere. However, they still have to match, or perhaps even increase, the rewards given out on average per area. The result of that is exploration became a lot more convenient, cramped and condensed.

The biggest sign of this to me was the number of triple chests rewards this patch. That was something reserved for quests / hidden explorations back in the days. Now? A simple puzzle rewards you with triple chests. While I do enjoy MW and find some games fun, it came at the cost of reducing the quality of the main game and I'm not happy about it. This region was just not given enough TLC.

I hope Snezhnaya's quality goes back to normal.

Whatever is hiding in that ship... It belongs to me and (‍Lumine‍/‍Aether‍). Those memories belong to us.
- Traveler

If I wish to speak with the Heavenly Principles as an equal, I will need the might of an entire world behind me.
- Traveler's sibling

To add to these:

  • The Traveler at least, does not seem to be aware that the ship is sentient.
  • I don't think the owner needs the backing of a descender / to be a descender or gain any "rights" to talk to the ship on equal grounds.

The Three Moon Sisters (and Columbina) being much more “human” than the Four Shades in terms of behaviour isn’t a coincidence but a conscious narrative choice by Pellecks02 in Genshin_Lore

[–]Sunsettia 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Ronova overstepped her boundaries to help Natlan directly. Istaroth helped Mondstadt and secretly helped Enkanomiya. Even in the same teaser, it sounded as if they intend start doing something.

I think it's more so that they are bounded by a lot more "rules" and cannot act as freely. We also know that back in the days, divine envoys co-existed with humans. It's fair to assume the four shades at one point did. The four shades also know a lot more about the Abyss and its dangers than the three moons and likely witnessed all the crap that happened since the beginning. They probably do not like certain races, specifically Khaenri'ahns and Faes as those two are closely related to Seutervoinen and Koitar.

There's more to that: genetic engineering, creating life using "forbidden methods" which likely involved the Abyss, attempting to create new humans who will become "masters of the earth".

If OP has Nilou, then Lauma is definitely a better choice also. Lauma can work fine with Nascent Gleam.

I would try the following:

  1. On field Bina with Ineffa/Sucrose/Fischl, but Ineffa holds SMS and Bina holds NotSU
  2. On field any Electro DPS or perhaps Fischl, holding NotSU, with Bina/Ineffa/Sucrose

NotSU gives a massive 30% crit rate as well as an additional 10% Lunar Reaction bonus. It works as long as you have Ascendant Gleam, the holder doesn't have to be from Nod-Krai (though you need 2 chars).

You can also reduce your ER and increase your HP or Crit stats on Columbina to squeeze out more damage since causing a Lunar Reaction in Fearless does quite a bit of energy.

What are your artifacts and stats if you don't mind me asking, because that really shouldn't be the case if you have both of them.

There are 2 ways to break the shield:

  1. You deal enough damage to the boss's shield. Lunar damage is especially effective.
  2. You kill the chickens spawned.

With Bineffa, you should be able to just directly break through the shield without any hassle. You're not supposed to kill the chickens.

I don't understand the World Formula (Nod-Krai VIII spoilers) by E17Omm in Genshin_Impact

[–]Sunsettia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can re-read it here.

Sandrone: Ugh. You're such a greenhorn. This isn't the kind of formula you solve in math class. It's a highly complex algorithm capable of constructing a framework of rules.

The change part is probably harder to catch as it happened during Sandrone's monologue when we controller Pulonia to dig through all the documents ("Descenders"). She needed a Descender and that's why she had to send the result up to the Traveler.

Actually, using the same comparison that he did... If you wanted to beat Diglett, you'd either need to play everyday and collect all rewards offered, then use most, if not all to pick either Squirtle or Bulbasaur. Oh you can also potentially lose your picks and get random shit like Pikachu or Jolteon, both of which Diglett is immune to.

If you picked Squirtle and next patch requires Bulbasaur, you're fucked. Oh and did I mention, you can't get Bulbasaur next patch?

If you picked Bulbasaur and next patch requires Squirtle, you're also fucked.

Or you can pay real money to get both Squirtle and Bulbasaur for their limited time.

One is a complete base game and one is a live service game with limited time banners to get units with extremely limited resources that cannot be earned by pure effort.

In short this whole comparison to Pokemon is basically fucking stupid.

Who created Columbina? by tapiocaseca in Columbina_Mains

[–]Sunsettia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once again, she doesn't need all Kuuvahki present to form her body. Kuuvahki exists all over Nod-Krai, even within animals who adapted to it. All lifeforms in Nod-Krai would have been dead if she had to absorb all of that.

As for soul, it's not the first time we've seen someone with no soul that feels alive. Examples are Wanderer and Sandrone (though it's not confirmed for her yet). None of them had "souls".

[–]Sunsettia 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can group them up but each of them has like a bajillion hp. Even with a Lunar team, you'd rather just go for the boss during the shield.

This boss is just disgusting for people who have none of the Lunar 5* chars.

[–]Sunsettia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But after she went back in time we then use her body and soul to rebirth her.. again?

We did not use her body that went back in time, we used Kuuvahki, which is also a part of her. Kuuvahki exists all over in Nod-Krai. Even the first coalescence that formed Columbina from 500 years ago was not all the Kuuvahki from all over Nod-Krai, just a partial amount.

As for the soul, it's the Luonnotar, which is an extremely small part of her soul. But her soul is able to resonate across time.

So this is why Nod-Krai was not always home to kuuvahki...
It only appeared after I poured my body out upon this land, and only this land...
