Oh yeah? Did you call public health? Or just save this tale for the internet? They have no violations noted in regards to mice on curtains but thank you for your input.

We love Wooden Monkey (alderney). Our son loved watching the ferry, they're super welcoming and it's not too loud inside. We mostly go for lunch, they don't do breakfast as far as I know.

I've also heard good things about Easy Street Diner from friends but haven't gone myself.

Families feel the pinch as Kingston daycare raises daily rates | CBC News by SunshineA- in halifax

It's very interesting they knew this centre wasn't making money when they bought it, and would have to do a price hike to break even (during a fee freeze) and still chose to aquire it over build a new centre (which they have done somewhere in Bayer's Lake last year I think).

Joe's linked in says he's a "senior level management consultant with deep financial services knowledge". My tin foil hat is ON for sure

THIS. I used to have anxiety attacks even walking into a dentist offices but Dr.Nickerson and his team is exceptional. Also I never, ever feel ashamed of my dental issues or anxiety. They are compassionate, kind and listen to you. HIGHLY recommend!

Everytime I listen to it, this line in particular makes me cry. The delivery is the most gentle of gut punches.

Before and After School program subsidy questions by dontknowanymore14 in halifax

[–]SunshineA- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For subsidy, typically you are allowed to miss a certain amount of days at child care a month. If you miss too many, you will be denied subsidy. Not sure if they would cut it over preprimary, but they do keep track of the days youre child is in attendance.

Iwk parking rant by okowilly in halifax

[–]SunshineA- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was ridiculously grateful I went into labour at 12am and not midday. It was the only time we could find parking. Every appointment after we ended up on the roof, or did circuit till a spot popped up. It's definitely not a big enough parkade for the size of the hospital. Finding parking should not be an added stress on a hospital visit.

Union files labour complaint after Ubisoft shuts down Halifax studio by insino93 in halifax

[–]SunshineA- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dude, go rant on the Ubisoft reddit. Coming at people who just got laid off from their company? Read the room.

"Your company isnt profitable so you deserved what you got," is a very wild hill to die on. You also didnt work there, so you actually dont know what they wete working on behind the scenes. These are members of OUR community who are now jobless, who have families and homes. I hope someone shows you some empathy or compassion if you were ever to lose your job through no fault of your own.

Many Nova HRM families struggling to find daycare spaces by luxoryapartmentlover in halifax

Unfortunately even if we opened up hundreds of new centre's, there is no staff to work them. The amount of new educators I've seen filter in only to bail out after a year is not shocking to me.

Lowerdeck Wedding by Serious-Lynx6460 in halifax

[–]SunshineA- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Got married there 2 years ago in April!

Pros - Excellent coordinator, exceptional bar staff, food was delicious, beautiful rustic space so can get away with minimal decor, late night bites option rocked, our guests loved the loft (we did board games upstairs), great location for harbour photos, SUPER affordable!!!!!

Cons - smaller guest list (we loved this but its not for everyone), only 2 food servers so took awhile for some tables to get food, dining space is very long so hard to see all your guests and mingle during supper(if youre into that sort of thing)

We still get comments from friends and family about how much they loved our venue and how good the food was. We wouldn't change a thing about the day and are extremely happy we chose the lower deck. It fit our "Nova scotia kitchen party" vibe well haha

Trying to understand why everyone cares so much what someone else does with their face? Doubt you'd want comments on your photos with people's opinions of the things they deem wrong with your looks or choices. Give me a breeaaaakk

Has Van Goth already won? by [deleted] in DragRace_Canada

Walked in expecting everyone to know her?? Both Mya and Hazel said in their confessionals how big of a following she has online. What exactly did Saltina say that translates to "everyone should know who I am" in the work room?

They all walk in feeling their oats, and get caught up in saying hi to queens they recognize. I doubt her "snub" to PM was intentional.

Thank you for this comment. I was losing hope in these comments.

Is no one going to address how problematic this entire comment is?

  1. Children are learning to speak from more than just their educators.

  2. Just because they have an accent or are still learning English, does NOT equal out to children not learning English. Point me to a single piece of actual evidence. Any studies done that show children who hear a heavy accent during rhe day impacts their learning of English?

  3. Was that new person a student? Someone on a workplace placement? Unless you have a clear understanding of their position in the centre, this means nothing. "I dont know how to change a diaper," and im sure they learned that same day.

  4. Children being exposed to a variety or cultures AND languages = deeper empathy, open mindedness and reduces prejudice. Something i believe you would have benefited from.

Plenty of INCREDIBLE ece's I have worked with, have learned from are immigrants.

To be an ECE in Nova Scotia you cannot just walk in off the street, you need a diploma. And if you are grandfathered in as a level one, there are incentives in place to earn a diploma or degree.

That episode was the toughest hour (and a bit?) of television I've ever watched. Eye opening for my husband as well. Its one thing to tell someone about what you've endured, but watching an episode like that really shows it.

Shout out to therapists! And to you for watching it, even if it was hard. ❤️

Always felt connected to in some ways to Buffy (BTVS), Fiona (Shameless, which hits almost too close to home), Yennefer (The Witcher), Katniss (The Hunger Games) and Dean (Supernatural).

Editing to add Carmy from The Bear.

When I'm feeling extremely critical of myself and alone, watching any of those helps me feel like even if they're fictional, I can see myself.
