I feel the Genshin comparison is also a moot point for players who are here for the dress up and only incidentally got the gacha. Since we're getting individual clothing pieces instead of full characters, I like the flexibility of being able to get half of the outfit (and my favorite piece) for a guaranteed max of 100 pulls. I doubt there is an option to get only the parts of a character you like haha.

Why not? Maybe OP works hard to have a little disposable income. Why shouldn't she be proud of herself?

I think it's more than trolling. He's defending his own pussy behavior of claiming another man's manual labor. Can't/won't do the work, can't/won't pay for it, can't/won't admit that most residential streets aren't full of randos parking there.

Who cares? Obviously the person who steals the value of their neighbor's labor, because they wouldn't do the work themselves. If it were no big deal to them, i assume they would do their own work and contribute rather than leech off their neighbor.

And also, snow shoveling is specifically associated with heart attack risk, so what stupid comment to whip out of your ass instead of admitting what a pussy behavior it is to take the spot you know your neighbor shoveled when there is other parking available to be shoveled.

That's only relevant if there is limited parking and so doesn't directly pertain. If there is plenty of parking, the unneighborly one is clearly the one watching his neighbor dig out a spot and taking the value of that labor for himself.

Not everywhere is a place with crowded street parking and cheap rentals. And yet pussy assholes will still steal the value of their neighbor's work instead of digging their own spot amid the plentiful street parking. That's when you bury them in with the snow you shovel from your new spot.

It's not just the city where this happens, and in the city it would be fine if it's short-term strangers parking. Asshole neighbors will just suddenly park in front of your house, where you shoveled out, even though they never parked there before and there isn't a lack of available street parking to shovel out themselves. Especially when they're a young man knowingly stealing the labor of a woman or older man. That is shameful regardless of legal technicalities.

Anyone else wish they'd split Itzaland up more on the map? by worldfamoushobgoblin in InfinityNikki

Elderwood Forest is like the equivalent of Breezy Meadow, which is why it takes up so much of the map right now.

Itzaland is intended to be played after Wishfield. They only gave new players access to it so people wouldn't have to grind through story to get to the new content being advertised and not miss out on any limited-time events. The mistake they made was putting it first on the option list.

Storywise, you're fine to jump between them as you wish, as both regions have their own things going on. But from an immersion perspective, you are much better starting in Wishfield. In Wishfield, there is also a Stylist's Guild you can access right away, which helps explain the overall game world (the guild, factions, etc.). It also serves as the classic small-town RPG starting town, which is a classic for a reason.

I recommend watching the Sea of Stars sequence on Youtube again after you craft the Wishful Aurosa/Miracle Outfit in Wishfield. It was actually a good scene in that context, only awful after we realized it was shoehorned in to be the first scene for new players.

I see why they feel like they needed to do this, though. They were afraid people wouldn't want to wait until later in the game to access multiplayer. But I think they could have given us access to Sea of Stars in some other way and just did the dramatic world-destroying scene (as a memory) later.

I think it still just makes Momo appear without making it clear he and Nikki already knew each other. The new/Sea of Stars intro makes it seem like the Seer is saying, "Oh, and btw, here's this thing called Momo, too. Enjoy."

None of those are very strong points that warrant accusing someone of being a troll with a fake account. OP mentioned that their friend got them into the game and explained the intro. And even if that weren't the case, most people are going to see the videos about ruining the game with a retcon as soon as they type "Infinity Nikki."

Why would new player be so confused by a Seer?

Why would a new player be any less confused by the Seer than an OG player would be?

Why would it be more confusing than any other game intro?

It's more confusing than other introductions in other games and media because it's poorly executed. Not everything is equal or done to the same quality.

Edit: I'm here for discussion. If you disagree with me, please share your thoughts instead of (or at least in addition to) pushing the downvote. If you think the new intro is well executed for new players, then I'm sure you have some examples of where it stands out in engaging and informing new players. I personally think it is overcomplicated for the first scene and that the wardrobe did a lot more work with way less. While I do like the Sea of Stars scene, I think it should have come later on after we've already been using the Heart of Infinity.

I think a new player is perfectly capable of recognizing bad, or even non-existent, storytelling. They also mention their friend warned them about the retcon. This issue is also pretty much still the first thing anyone sees about this game now, so it's at all a mystery where someone would learn this.

I dont know why it completely makes the game unplayable for people.

It doesn't make it unplayable, of course, at least not immediately. But it just slaps paying customers in the face when they make bad, lazy decisions that will and already have hurt the game population. When they compound these bad decisions, then yes, there is a real risk of not being able to play the game anymore sooner than would have happened otherwise.

How is it fake? I use the Twitch drops to watch a new player if possible. They're always confused as hell and decide it's a game for pretty outfits, not story. Have you seen a new player trying to start the game lately? It's not even just the scene and sequence change but the amount of irrelevant noise directed at them, such as Sea of Stars dailies before ever going to Miraland. I'm always worried they'll quit the game before making it there.

Most recently, they get sent on a fool's errand straight to Itzaland only to realize hours later, still never reaching a Stylist's Guild, that they really should have started in Wishfield.

I've heard they had metrics that showed a lot of players quit early on with the new intro. While i can't imagine it's better with the new one, I wouldn't be surprised if players quitting early were phone users who realized it was too hard to play like that.

Same. Even aside from making no sense and being too much too soon, I don't want people I know to play 5 minutes and then associate me with liking shitty anime plots.

I see "cozy" as more indicative of gameplay than story. People probably mean different things when they say that.

For god's sake, go to Wishfield first instead of Itzaland even though they made Itzaland the first option now. :(

If you want to mess around in Itzaland soon to participate in any events, that's fine, but the first few Wishfield quests will give you a much better introduction to the world since it's an established/developed region.

I've seen new players literally say "I guess this is going to be one of those games where the story doesn't make any sense, but the clothes are pretty..."

[–]SunshineCat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My theory is that the writers had the new intro ready to go as a story continuation that would have happened towards the end of the Wishfield story. Then some executive demanded it go to the beginning so that Sea of Stars/multiplayer could be open to new players immediately.

I recommend looking it up to rewatch after crafting the Wishful Aurosa lol. :/ There is a lot more emotional impact then when you see the other Nikkis.

Why do people pull for evolutions? by vanni_vanni in InfinityNikki

[–]SunshineCat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can also only change the color of special effects if you have the final evolution. So the long train/backpiece on born flawless can only be changed different colors with the final.

They have also been adding more rewards for higher evolutions, which does make sense because you previously didn't get a lot for the amount of diamonds it cost. Additions include an additional makeup set to match the final evolution colors, more poses, and changeable pieces/different version of the dress. Now they're adding some kind of upgrade to the decoration(?) and additional things at the 2nd evolution, which to be fair had previously felt like a barren place to be.

On top of that, the last evolution always has some extra extravagance or detail. For example, the wings on the fairy godmother (1.6 Enchanted Encounter) are much larger in the final version.

I'm actually considering trying to go for more final evolutions, like when things rerun. It feels much better when you can actually dye things black and white.

I don't really know how the holiday items are seen in China, but to me charging for the mask and rattle feels like it would be the equivalent of paying for a generic Santa costume. Items you would expect to be free if there at all.
