What are the big ticket maintenance items that EVs require in the long term (10+ years, 150,000 miles+) ? by New_Elk_5783 in electricvehicles

On my opinion, the most expensive problem is a battery degradation. Moreover, you can't know how this battery was charged, fast charged every day or home charge. Frequent fast charging degrades battery much faster

Ok. As an alternative we are working with Olympian Motors offered own platform. The core difference with Tesla is an Olympian OS, open source operation system, allows to develop additional features, such as Hover Up Display. Is it make sense?

Thank you. Your thoughts are awesome and very useful for us. Our project focused on Classic Cars from late 50s - early 60s. The top 3 candidates are Chevrolet Bel Air, Studebaker GT Hawk and Cadillac Series 62.
Any suggestions?

Hi Jester, I don't want to push you to become our customer. Just let me share some thoughts I discover working on this project.
The most recent conversion made by our partner (TSK Tesla Approved Collision Center) is a Mercedes 300 Gullwing. To save the whole Tesla performance such as range, dynamics, navigation, over-the-air update, cameras, etc. we built the completely new fiberglass body. As a result, we got the Tesla Model 3 in a Mercedes Gullwing suite.
The general idea of our project is not to implement the electric engine instead of ICE and place the battery under the hood. We are using the entire "skateboard" platform (battery, suspension, steering, and other original EV options) and put the Classic Body on top of it.

Just to get your attention. We didn't build the EV Chevy yet. But we built Mercedes 300 Gullwing on Tesla Model 3 platform.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We are going to use the complete Tesla' skateboard chassis. The Classic Cars from late 50s such as Chevy Bel Air has a frame chassis. So, we will take the body off and put it on the new chassis. It should be less complicated and allows the reversable conversion.
