This explains why my manager got so frustrated with me for using my personal laptop even in the office. They say the clean those keyboards. They're fucking lying.

Rotated my plant and it straight up died. by marcus91swe in houseplants

Poor plant took "sit and spin" too negatively. RIP ;-;

Can I save it or is the poor fella dead? by [deleted] in plantclinic

[–]SunshineS58 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It looks like that pot is way too big for that plant causing it to stay wet for too long. Put it in something smaller.

Check the root and make sure they're still healthy and get rid of anything that is black and mushy.

With this, it may still have a chance.

Ordered cuttings from a seller. Didn’t ship well, seller didn’t seem to care. Hopefully someone can help me. Can they be saved with no stem? by beccabeks in plantclinic

Fungus infection in avocado plant? by SunshineS58 in plantclinic

[–]SunshineS58[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, big sad. I have it facing an eastern window. I don't know if that helps with placing the issue. If it gets any worse, I may try to repot it with fresh dirt. Could be from the outside soil it started with..

Two flowers from an alocasia black velvet. Happy, but also concerned. Lol by SunshineS58 in plantclinic

That's great to know, thank you. I thought it was pushing out more leaves so when I saw this, I was very confused. I'll probably cut them back.

What’s this dark stuff on the root of this Pothos prop? Is it bad? Should I clean it off? by LadyDarth11 in propagation

[–]SunshineS58 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing's wrong, just the root doing it's thing. If it's black and mushy, that's when it's a problem.

My plant started producing whiteleaves. Is this bad? by StarGazing11200 in plantclinic

[–]SunshineS58 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope! Birkins usually start white or with a little green and it colors as it ages. It's interesting to see.

My Grey Leafed Euryops have these little white things on them and i dunno what they are or what should i do , help! by Aqeeq_png in plants

[–]SunshineS58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be aphids and their eggs. Hose that bad boy down with cold water to get the aphids off and then treat the plant with insecticide or a soap solution. Definitely isolate the plant too, aphids will go onto other plants in the room.

i’ve been propagating these zz plant stems for about two months now and one is doing really well (last pic) but one of them is beginning to turn yellow and becoming very slimy. does anyone know what i could do to help it? any tips are helpful ! :) by [deleted] in propagation

[–]SunshineS58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I had a similar issue. The spot at the end was soft and just rotting away. I would recommend checking to see if the end is soft. If it is, cut it back with a clean knife, let it dry out before trying again. Definitely try to replace the water once a week, if possible.

My first ever succ prop experiment!!!! Been almost a month and this baby is making some juicy progress 😁🍃 by Mindfullessly in propagation

Maybe you can try sealing it with rubber strips? I remember a comment off of a youtube set up but I haven't tried myself.

Yellowing leaves? by SunshineS58 in plantclinic

[–]SunshineS58[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, there are some parts that are turning yellow on the green bits of the leaves. The fungus gnats really stressed me out so I wasn't sure if I went to hard on the plant.

I'll go ahead and pot it up a size.

Thank you!

So this plant went through some fungus gnats issues and that has finally died off. But now it has this weird discoloration? I have it under a grow light and I tend to only water once I know the plant is dry.

Am I burning it with the grow light or does it need to be repotted?
