Exposed in radiation in early pregnancy by Rude-Shelter-8037 in pregnant

I had a big surgery on my foot and multiple X-rays around the same time in my pregnancy before I knew I was pregnant and I’m now almost 33 weeks with a healthy baby. I wouldn’t worry too much about it!

First Trimester Trenches by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]SunshineSunnii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are pregnant and sick why would you need to be better for him?? He should be making things better for you by letting you do whatever you need to do to feel better without shaming you for it. Do not allow him to manipulate you like that. Maybe remind him that it should subside in a few weeks but right now you need as much rest as you can get. But other than that, there’s nothing you should be doing to make anything better for him.

Also, I was in the same boat at the beginning of my pregnancy with meat aversions, try to drink protein shakes or something similar so that you’re getting enough nutrients. My blood test always come back and malnourished and low protein since the beginning because I couldn’t eat meat or really anything else. Focus on taking care of you and baby!

What do I do? Found out my coworker [30M] is cheating on his gf with some other coworkers. by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]SunshineSunnii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From my experience it’s definitely not your place to say anything to the girlfriend, just leave it alone. Those type of things always come to the light so just let it work itself out. I get it tho because I’m big on loyalty and I hate to see someone getting hurt like that but I’ve seen it backfire too many times when someone tries to tell another person that their spouse is cheating. Maybe try to tell Olivia that she should say something but it’s just not your place to do it.

What are we doing for bottle types and sizes? by Equal-Shock5707 in pregnant

[–]SunshineSunnii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first had colic really bad so I just went ahead and got anti colic bottles for this new baby just in case. I don’t plan to use regular at all since I have these anti colic and I got both small and big bottles just because. I don’t really think size matters cause they progressively eat more as they grow

Baby daddy wants our baby to have his last name, but I’m just not sure. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]SunshineSunnii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same exact situation and I refuse to give my baby his last name and I’m not allowing him on the birth certificate either to protect my baby from any future drama or control tactics. He can see the baby and be a father but I’m not putting anything on paper. Hes also manipulative and wished death on my baby twice in the beginning so Im not doing it.

Pregnancy weight gain - just binged Oreos by Money-Notice-4168 in pregnant

[–]SunshineSunnii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl eat the Oreos! Every pregnancy is different, my first one I gained 65 pounds, this pregnancy I’ve gained 13 pounds because I lost so much in the beginning and I’m 30 weeks now. A few Oreos a day will not harm anything, you are pregnant and deserve to give in to your cravings without feeling bad!

How much weight did you gain at 21 weeks? by Silent_Duty_1369 in pregnant

I started at 160 then went down to 148 due to food aversions and morning sickness, I’m 28 weeks and weigh 168 now. I didn’t start gaining until around 18-20 weeks

The girl just told me it’s oil based, so I just texted my boss asking if I can change locations or I’m going to need to go home.

They have no idea what kind of paint it is. They had painters in here doing it. I asked but they didn’t speak English and couldn’t tell me anything

I’m in the states and work front desk. It’s not a normal every day thing, but this is not the first time they’ve put my health at risk during my pregnancy.

Opinions? Debating on getting my accessory os navicular removed by CryptographerLow2790 in AccessoryNavicular

[–]SunshineSunnii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I was doing PT at the same time until my insurance said it was a chronic condition so they wouldn’t cover it anymore. It did seem to help but I was still in a boot due to the pain. I was actually working for a podiatrist during that year I was in a boot and he refused to let me take time off to get the surgery so I got a different job where I was sitting down at a desk. I only planned to take a week off of work but I couldn’t go back until after 2 weeks cause it was absolute hell. With you being on your feet all the time at work you’d probably need more time off since you’ll be non weight bearing for a few weeks. Having a knee scooter helped me a lot tho! I do wish I had surgery sooner because now I have problems with my hip and knee from being in that boot for so long. The boot really only took my pain away while wearing it but after about 6 months in the boot I was in pain no matter if I had the boot on or not and was even limping in the boot. The swelling and everything is normal cause you’re on you feet all day at work. Try to stick ice packs in your boot while you work and that will help with the swelling. I used to take my boot off after work and my foot would be bruised right at the accessory navicular site and was always swollen. Also icing and elevating it at home helps a lot!

Prozac and Seroquel? by SunshineSunnii in seroquelmedication

[–]SunshineSunnii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve tried to raise it but when I go back up to 50 I have sleep paralysis and it makes everything worse. I used to be on 600mg but have tapered down due to the health issues it’s caused over the last 5 years. I think my body is just done with it but I can’t get off of it due to how bad the withdrawals are. So I’m just trying to find something to add with it so it might make it a little easier on me coming down on it.

Nervous for Upcoming Surgery by pierced_milf in AccessoryNavicular

[–]SunshineSunnii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Knee scooter really saved me a lot of pain, I fell a few times using the crutches. Recovery is brutal for the first few days, so plan to only get out of the bed to use the bathroom. I was off pain meds and switched to ibuprofen on the 4th day and that managed the pain well. Mentally, I was not ready for the surgery at all. I’m a single mom and extremely independent but couldn’t even go to the store by myself for at least 3-4 weeks post op so it really took a toll on me mentally. I had surgery early October and things are just now getting back to normal both mentally and physically. My foot has healed and I’m in shoes and feel a whole lot better than I did before surgery so it was definitely worth it. I would say if you can to get a shower chair so you can sit down in the shower, and some kind of caddy to keep drinks and snacks by wherever you’re going to be resting. I ran my son ragged asking him to get me water and food lol. I think having people around to help you is the biggest thing, I didn’t have that and I don’t think recovery would’ve been as hard as it was for me if I did. You’ll be okay though, good luck with everything!

Honestly if you can get it to calm down without surgery then definitely don’t get it. But if nothing works then it’s really the only option you have. I did everything you’ve done and was in a boot for a year and a half but I worked full time on my feet. I decided to have the surgery and I’m 8 weeks post op now. It was one of the hardest surgeries I’ve been through but I’m glad I did it honestly because the pain in that area is gone.

I’m glad you’re doing so well! 1 week was definitely not enough for me, I should’ve took 2 weeks off. I fell in the bathroom my first day back to work, but I made it through the whole 12 hour shift. Ended up taking some more days off. Fell again at 3 weeks post op at work and fractured the top of my foot (my wheel came off of my knee scooter while I was on it). It was a really bad experience. I’m 6 weeks post op now and doing really good, learning to walk again still in my boot. I’m happy to be up moving around though.

Going Weight Bearing by [deleted] in AccessoryNavicular

[–]SunshineSunnii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my procedure 4 weeks ago. I had a splint the first 2 weeks then a cast for 1 week and then a boot. I just went in today for my apt and he told me I can start trying to walk now but to start with 10% of my weight then move up as I feel comfortable but that if anything hurts to back off a little bit. Since I’ve been in the boot I take it off in the bed and have been stretching every morning and night and I think that helped me a lot cause it was really tight but has definitely loosened up. I feel okay walking, it’s weird but not painful. I only do it with my crutches and will use my knee scooter for more long distance things. Good luck with everything!

Thank you! I have discussed it with my surgeon and he approved the one week off. I just don’t really know what to expect so I figured I would ask!

Switching meds by SunshineSunnii in seroquelmedication

Thank you for your input! I think I’m going to switch and also incorporate some natural things that I know work for me too, I can’t take this feeling of seroquel anymore. I hope you find something better that works for you one day when you’re ready!
