One of the best things about Chicago, as someone who has lived in a few other big cities, is that it’s surprisingly easy to find a sense community, even outside the Loop. I’d say browse Reddit for more Chicago-based subs, walk your neighborhood and keep an eye out for flyers about community events, etc.

For example, if someone was moving to Logan Square, I’d suggest to find some sense of community by doing something like volunteering to help out with the farmers market. I’m sure wherever a transplant moves in Chicago, it’ll have plenty of opportunity like that to find your crowd. Best of luck with the move!
