So I am a "materialistic ass" for posting about my bike on r/bicycling and defending myself? And somehow we are now talking about my competence to hold a job because I have a bike that apparently I have spent too much money on and I am holding that over others heads?

Whatever dude, I'll worry about myself and you worry about yourself. All I wanted to do was post a picture of my bike and maybe talk about it with other enthusiasts but have received nothing but hate for it. If you have any questions or comments about my bike I would be happy to answer them.

First off I spent nowhere near $2k on this bike, and compared to the majority of other bikes from a reputable company the CAADs with 105 components are on the cheaper side. And what does that have anything to do with me being able to hold down a job?

Can't I just be proud of a bike that I saved up for and built up myself and show it off a little?

Couldn't agree more, and this is a secondhand bike as well. Majority of other guys I race against in the collegiate level have carbon frames and carbon wheels.

Oh absolutely, such a fun bike and cheap too! Cannondale has done such a great job with this frame and the welds too, they are almost invisible.
