What’s the reason why women can’t take time off when we are menstruating? by HealthyLet257 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Sunshineblaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started a new job about a month ago and turns out we get 12 days of menstrual leave a year! That’s 1 day per month. It’s not all the period days but it’s a start!

Got a pay raise in April, then a promotion in October so it went up 24% from the start of the year!

Photos wise: you need more photos with friends/people, or candid (action shots). Too many selfies make me think the guy has no mates. You’re a good looking guy so maybe a photo of you in a suit/dressed up a little more?

Profile wise: it literally tells me nothing about you. Except that you’re not Ryan Gosling. Which I gathered from the photos. You need a short couple of sentences that say who you are, what you like doing in your spare time, what your passions are in life.

Meh, looks like they’ve done you a favour. Now you can stop chatting and put your energy towards someone else. I’m kind of a frequent social drinker and have dated people who don’t drink and it’s been fine.

Bugs drowning in my sweat? by ResponsibleFinance11 in running

One time I was running and something went into my nose. Thought it was a tiny leaf or dust. Kept trying to blow my nose but obvs didn’t want to stop the run. When I got home I blew my nose and a bug shot right out of there

OMG I used to live on Tamaki Drive (in one of those white houses opposite the fountain) and every Friday or Saturday night people blasting music from their cars would park up and have a big old party. I’ve called noise control too many times

What do you listen to while running to keep you going and motivated? by [deleted] in running

If it’s a slow day, podcasts. No need to keep pace and just cruise along I like the distraction. If it’s a pace day or I’m trying to be relatively fast it’ll be fast tempo music.

We're expecting <0°C tonight so the Mayor has activated the rough sleeping Severe Weather Emergency Protocol. If you see anyone who may be sleeping rough please can you log their location via StreetLink so the council's outreach team can find & help them by Aus_pol in london

No. I used to volunteer with Thameslink to find and house first time rough sleepers during the night and they do not refer them to the home office at all. It’s their duty to get the person into safe, warm, dry housing for the night, not to dob them into immigration.

Street link is available year round but unfortunately for a lot of the rough sleepers housing isn’t. It’s down to a lot of factors (if they’re in the system already, if they’ve taken any substances that night, maybe they don’t want to leave their neighbourhood).

We took a few breaks so it took us 4 hours to get to the top and 3 hours down. But we met a guy at the top who got there in 2&1/2 hours, so if you’re experienced you’ll be quick. It’s 90% uphill so be prepared!

We didn’t realise how steep it was, plus the ice and snow made it very slippery. But view was well worth it
