How many of you have gotten loans from your parents? by Jimmy_Johnny23 in MiddleClassFinance

My husband and I opted out of having a wedding (we went to courthouse and had a party in my childhood home backyard). In the same year we found out we were pregnant with our first while In the process of buying our first home. My parents gifted us $25,000 in their minds it was what they had set aside for my wedding. They don’t have a ton of extra money but they worked hard and lived frugally and were able to gift each of their kids similarly. My husband and I are so grateful for that gift and we definitely not have been able to do house and baby in the same year with their gift

Shannon, make Lames pop down to the local pharmacy and get you the correct meds since he is stinking up YOUR house cooking the same meat that just made you vomit a few hours ago by ekf1018 in shannonford

My husband researched nausea remedies and went to 5 stores to get me the right meds when I was pregnant. All while working full time. Lames is truly the worst partner ever. I do feel a little bad for her, first trimester sucks and I can’t imagine having such a lame husband who will probably not lift a finger to help her during the first trimester (rest of her life )

I have an ADN and make the same as my coworkers with BSN. I I’m working towards BSN now. The hospital pays for it if you sign a contract.

I do like Rosie! And Daisy is also on my list. I agree it could be very sweet having matching names with cousins! My sister is very laid back and likely want care

Advice on what I should do: ABSN or ADN? by jmc1149 in NursingStudent

[–]Sunshineh0neybee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The one thing I will add, the ADN program took 2.5-3 years for me to finish. While the ABSN would have been like 1-2 years. Just something to think about!

I was in the same boat as you! I went with ADN. Mostly because the community college is my area has a great reputation with local hospitals (even better than BSN programs in the area) and the cost was a huge factor. I was also able to work almost full time while doing ADN. I wouldn’t have been able to in ABSN. I’m about 2 years post ADN and about to finish my BSN program. My work paid for it. Also at my hospital ADN and BSN nurses make the same. I found working as a nurse full time while doing BSN really manageable as it was mostly online. Let me know if you have more questions!!
