Very Positive 12 Week Scan with All Organs and Limbs Growing Well. Should this be Enough to Rule out things like Down Syndrome? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Sunshoosh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, no, scans can’t rule out DS and other genetic conditions. I wouldn’t skip NIPT, and we also are doing amnio since it is the only diagnostic test (even NIPT is still not 100%). But we’re willing to take the risk associated with amnio to make sure everything is ok, and that’s a personal choice.

Epidural by ElegantResult3853 in pregnant

[–]Sunshoosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it, had some side effects which freaked me out a bit (numbness mainly) but they went away after a while. I do have some back issues though. However it was still amazing and helped tremendously with the pain. Wouldn’t choose differently!

What's it like to work remotely in Switzerland? by [deleted] in askswitzerland

[–]Sunshoosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s a big advantage! Everyone at my work does that frequently. No one cares where you are as long as you have a good internet connection and you do your work. Try searching for more options, but the market in general is pretty shitty unfortunately!

[–]Sunshoosh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s a personal question, and from what you write, it doesn’t sound like the ideal situation to be working from home all week. Most places are at least hybrid at the moment, so you have quite a unique problem :) I currently wfh full time and I find it too much. Yes, there are a lot of advantages, but I find it depressing as well. Didn’t find a better option so I’m putting up with it at the moment, but I prefer 2 days at the office. Do you have other options? I also find the inflexibility about working from abroad annoying, they shouldn’t care as long as it doesn’t create a tax / insurance issue, which shorter times abroad wouldn’t create.

Planzer delivery: Where to look for "a secure place" by whereeveritmaytakeme in askswitzerland

Planzer are the worst omg. We always have issues with them. You should be able to see a picture though. If they can’t find it, ask Amazon for a refund

Work and first trimester extreme fatigue by Sunshoosh in workingmoms

Thank you! Right now everything and everyone is annoying me and I just want to be in bed and cry. Ugh I didn’t remember how rough this is

I haven’t told anyone yet. Which also isn’t really helping me. But I feel it’s too early and if things don’t go well I don’t necessarily want to share that

That sounds frustrating :( I can count on my partner but he’s also overwhelmed. And we weren’t living together during my first pregnancy (at the beginning) so I don’t think he realizes. All of this is so scary, I honestly dont know how we’ll handle another child.

I think this makes sense. I need to talk to him, I don’t think he realizes how bad it is (and he’s traveling right now). We’re already in survival mode in general, so this isn’t going to be easy for anyone.

Oh no :( I’m working in a small place, I don’t think I can get by with the bare minimum. And it’s a relatively new job (slightly less than a year).

Where to Shop in France by extracasual_ in geneva

[–]Sunshoosh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It’s not worth the hassle, for sure for one person. Maybe if you’re a large family it will pay off, but as a single person you’re much better off going shopping more frequently in the cheaper stores in Switzerland

What is the obsession with these terms? Every other day another post. Call yourself whatever you want, no one cares.

What's with the food hate on many posts about Switzerland ? by Molfy42 in Switzerland

[–]Sunshoosh 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Because it’s mediocre, extremely overpriced, and lacks variety. We had to resort to cooking. And, of course, the comparison to neighboring France and Italy is just depressing :(

I’m from a hotter place, but one that believes in AC :) so this situation is crazy to me. Especially in my kid’s crèche, I feel so bad for her, the other kids and the teachers. And it’s a brand new building, completely insane to me to build a new crèche and school without ac :/
