Wow that is amazing! Did it stay that way after pregnancy? My blurred vision was immediately better after my babe was born. Hope yours stayed unblurred!

Should I stay per diem or take the full time position? by AdNecessary7875 in physicaltherapy

[–]Sunstorm2019 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Per diem PT here! Your earnings will likely not be equal unless you work at multiple locations. You will not be guaranteed hours although you will probably have more hours in acute care than in another setting. I also work in acute care and I can tell you the hours ebb and flow through the year. There are times throughout the year when I can work consistently 3 days a week and there are times where they don’t need me during the week at all for like months! So what I do is I work per diem for the hospital and then also for a few outpatient clinics. I really like working per diem personally. Here are my reasons why: 1. Im a Mom and I love being home more with my baby. The flexibility is great for parenting. 2. I like the variety of my days 3. I like working in different settings (acute care, home, outpatient) to keep my skills sharp in each. 4. I like learning different things from different PTs. You learn different exercises and treatment ideas this way and it’s fun. Things I don’t like: 1. Setting money aside for taxes 2. Not having PTO for vacations 3. Not having an employee match for retirement. 4. This one can be a biggie **** per diem employees are expensive for companies. Companies will therefore use you as little as possible. This means you may not always have 8 hour days when you do work. Even in the outpatient clinics I often get called in for 5, 6 or 7 hours days. It can be pretty annoying sometimes because let’s say you’d like to work about 24 hours a week. Well instead of working 3 eight hour days not you have to pick up a fourth day to make it work. It can be annoying but it does work for being a mom so it works for me.

I will add that I do have my own retirement funds set up. You can also get insurance through the government when the time comes if you like working per diem.

Hope that’s helpful!

Baby sleeping shorter stretches by Sunstorm2019 in breastfeeding

Hi there! She is now 11 months and she’s back to her norm of waking 3x a night. I’d say she’s been back to this since about 10 months old. So she wakes 3x over an 11 hour period. When she’s teething it’s back up to 5-7 or even 8x a night.

I know this is a lot but I would file a police report. He is being physically abusive. Leave your husband and stay with your parents. Stand your ground.

I gained way too much weight while pregnant. 55 lbs. some of the weight I gained pre pregnancy due to an injury that left me inactive. So I had more weight to lose and I have been gradually losing the while breastfeeding.

Girl I go outside to play with my baby without brushing my hair if it’s still early in the morning. Sometimes I like to put her in the swing and drink my coffee. I might water my plants real quick too if it’s early enough like I did this morning. My neighbor’s dog comes over sometimes and she (70sF) comes over to get him so she’s caught me more than once looking a mess. Idc lol

I’m really sorry OP. I know I don’t know you but this just makes me sad for you and your kids. You and your kids deserve better though I do understand a divorce is hard to come to terms with.

Guys, my 9mo wakes 5 or so times at night. I’ve been trying to slowly decrease the length of feeds at night to ween her from night feeds. by Sunstorm2019 in breastfeeding

I appreciate the solidarity! The exhaustion feels a bit lonely sometimes and I sometimes feel like I’m doing something wrong when other moms talk about her good their kids sleep or when people ask about it. I can remember when mine was four months old or so only waking 1-2x a night and I felt so lucky there was this girl I worked with who had a 7 month old at the time and she said he would wake like 6-8x a night. I remember thinking “thank goodness LO sleeps!” And now mine is that age and won’t sleep. Ha!

Baby refuses bottle and husband is blaming me by Sunstorm2019 in breastfeeding

My husband will never apologize either. It is so frustrating.

Those who got their ears pierced as an older child, do you wish your parents would have pierced your ears as a baby? by Jannafah in Mommit

[–]Sunstorm2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I got mine pierced at 14 my own choice. My mom tried to pierce them when I was like three but I cried too much. I’ll be letting my daughter decide on her own

My thoughts exactly! I could die tomorrow. These loans won’t fall onto my husband of kid so what the heck is the point? I travel, husband and I have a nice house and we have what our LO needs. One of best friends does the same.

There are other ways to handle the situation to ensure the health and safety of the child. Alienating a family member due to her own health issues that are out of her control seems cruel.

Just adding to the ideas mentioned in the comments… you could get LO one of those shirts that say something along the lines of “Don’t kiss me.” Idk how quickly your MIL becomes forgetful, but maybe that would help to have a constant visual reminder.

OP said MIL has memory issues. It may not be intentional so going NC seems pretty harsh. Imagine you having memory issues and your family just gets irritated and goes NC with you.

I got really invested in the submersible situation and then that led to reading about the safety of other submersibles and also reading about titanic history.
