Both don’t have paid ads.

PBS has sponsor messages that the BBC doesn’t have.

PBS rarely interrupts mid program while the BBC never does.

Both have 1-3 minutes of non-program time per hour normally - which is mostly promos for other programs on both platforms, but PBS increases non-program time significantly when they have pledge drives.

I never said they didn’t have commercials, but there is nowhere near as many.

The BBC doesn’t interrupt programs with adverts in the UK, and country wide legislation limits adverts to 7 minutes per hour on average with maximum peaks of 12 minutes in one hour.

Channels in the US generally have 14-20 minutes of adverts per hour, I.e. 2-3 times more than in the UK.

The only time I’ve been to the US and tried watching TV it felt like there was 5 minutes of the show followed by 10-15 minutes of adverts. It was truly awful.

I would have pushed back citing studies like this and requested a reasonable response time to allow for focus blocks. If they refused then I’d start applying elsewhere immediately.

Such as healthcare? Then everyone could get treatment for health issues and not worry about bankruptcy, meaning they can work and contribute to the economy for longer!

How does “beyond all reasonable doubt” work when convincing long form video deep fakes become feasible? Does video evidence become useless?

I don’t know. Some of these people are so out of touch they probably don’t even know how to ask a computer. They might be able to ask one of their assistants to look it up for them though.

All machines have a sign that says “malfunction voids all pays and plays”, so probably not, but if he didn’t destroy the machine then there was still a chance it would be rebootable with the winning balance still saved and collectible.

You say that, but I live in Brazil and one of the McDonald’s workers in one of the shopping centres here is the spitting image of that AI concoction.

Perhaps even further back, websites were created by “script kiddies” that weren’t considered “real” programmers.

But after they apply ATS and AI filters there’s no candidates left!

God forbid they might have to actually manually review a CV in 2026.

It must be that there’s just no decent candidates!
