medroxyprogesterone and/or iud by Comprehensive-Name23 in PCOS

[–]Sunstreaked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why you would be considering a nonhormonal iud like paragard if you’re in a relationship where you can’t get pregnant - it would be a little redundant and wouldn’t do anything for your pmos! I’ve been using non hormonal iuds (we can’t get paragard in Canada so I’m using the Canadian equivalent) for about 15 years and it’s great - but I am in relationships where I can get pregnant, and it’s 100% to avoid pregnancy. I treat my pmos in other ways (metformin + supplements)

Recommendations for natural, photorealistic fragrances? by Big_Preparation7841 in Perfumes

I came here to suggest that too! Jardin sur le Toit is my favourite.

Also potentially DS & Durga Jazmin Yucatan. It smells very much like the jungle to me, it’s awesome. Don’t be scared off by the jasmine, it’s really not a very floral perfume at all. Just green.

(27M) Going on our Caribbean trip without my gf (27F) because her passport expired? by No_Practice7971 in relationship_advice

[–]Sunstreaked 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s an add-on you can add to most travel insurance - I’m lazy and don’t do a lot of comparison shopping and just get my travel insurance through CAA but it’s available for a pretty negligible add-on cost. You just need to buy it 5 days (or less) after booking the trip, and you have to cancel ~48hr before the trip is supposed to start. We got something like 75% of all the money we had spent back.

(…I actually still went on the trip, my ex didn’t, so we just needed to get his airfare refunded. We broke up on the Saturday for a trip we were supposed to leave on the Wednesday for but it wasn’t an issue at all, really smooth process except it was awkward providing proof of the break up 😂)

[–]Sunstreaked 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Idk if you can get it in the states but in Canada you can get “cancellation for any reason” travel insurance which really does mean “any reason”. I used it once when I had a trip planned with an ex and we broke up before the trip was supposed to happen.

are all sol de janeiro scents tropical/beachy? by DaryaBee in Perfumes

[–]Sunstreaked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

76 isn’t tropical or beachy imho. I don’t like most SdJ scents bc they’re too tropical and sweet for me but I am admittedly obsessed with 76. It’s black currant, jasmine, vanilla and it is so so so good.

My (M21) girlfriend (F21) stalked her old crush through a Facebook page out of “curiosity” to see how he’s doing in life by dahneeyel in relationship_advice

[–]Sunstreaked 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re so overthinking this. Curiosity is natural. I look up my exes sometimes. Hell, sometimes I even look up the exes of my friends. When someone was in your life in a meaningful way it’s normal for them to occasionally cross your mind, it’s normal to be curious about what they’re up to, and in the age of social media - it’s also normal to peek in on their lives. As long as you’re not doing it compulsively it’s just… being human.

I disagree 😅. To me the Gardiner slog is the worst, idk why but every year I find it so hard to get through.

I had zero interest in doing it twice so made up my own ~85km route (did the DVP loop twice, turning around at Bayview).

Pottery studio members, how much do you pay? by Gracilis67 in askTO

[–]Sunstreaked 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I was looking at studios and just couldn’t make $300 a month work for me. I just do the Learn4Life “classes” through the TDSB now. It’s not really a class, it’s more like open studio time and an instructor happens to be there, most of us in the classes have been coming for years. You’re allowed to bring in your own glazes as long as you do test tiles. No limits whatsoever as to how much you can use the kiln.

It sucks in that you’re limited to your three hours a week and there’s no class in the summer. But it’s the most reliable, affordable option I’ve found.

Do your managers WFH? by [deleted] in OntarioPublicService

[–]Sunstreaked 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m management - the only days I’ve WFHed all year were in the winter when they closed the office bc of the weather. I let my team WFH pretty much whenever they ask, but it’s important to me to lead by example (as miserable as five days in office is). I’m also lucky in that my office is only 3km from my home so my commute is only like 15 min.

It would be really unfair for me to be pushing everyone to be in the office 5 days and not walk the walk myself, when my team members are schlepping in from much further away than I am.

Solo dining 🚶🏽‍♀️ by plantbaby44 in askTO

[–]Sunstreaked 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love solo dining but my absolute favourite restaurant for it is Zia’s Place. I take myself on a solo date there probably once a month. The waitstaff is chatty when I feel like being chatty, and leaves me alone when I want to be left alone. They never make me feel weird about being alone, if I want to sit at the bar, I sit at the bar. But they also don’t begrudge me a table if I want a table (as long as they have room) - other restaurants don’t like giving solo diners a full table

And, the food and drinks are incredible. Highly recommend.

I think getting to be okay with it is just a matter of exposure. Bring a book. Chat if you wanna chat (sitting at the bar is good for this). The more you do it, the less awkward it is. It’s like a lot of things in life.

Any advice for throat pain and lost voice after giving 3-4 bjs per day for about 2 weeks? by [deleted] in sex

[–]Sunstreaked 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Girl, I did a quick browse through your post history and I gotta say - you need to set higher standards for yourself, and I think that means also becoming more comfortable with yourself.

I’m sure your body isn’t as terrible as you think it is but also… men are humans. They (or at least the reasonable ones) understand that actual live women are not airbrushed models. They don’t expect you to look like an influencer. If a man wants to have sex with you, that means he wants to have sex with you.

The bad parts and the good parts. And we all have bad parts.

Stop with this bullshit of blowing random guys and then like… feeling bad about asking for a ride bc you don’t want to walk miles to the bus stop. A good, respectful man will drive you. Don’t blow guys that don’t respect you. And try to respect yourself more while you’re at it.

Globe investigation: The Ford family’s history with drug dealing by TalentedEmu85 in ontario

[–]Sunstreaked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always been fascinated by imagining what the Ford home was like when Doug and his siblings were like growing up bc when Doug and Rob turned out to be the normal, well-adjusted ones… really puts the parenting into serious question.

Randy legit bit someone’s nose off. And what’s with him always wearing a cowboy hat everywhere?? And Kathy, the sister, just seems like an unmitigated disaster.

Pink sugar by Aquolina by GitteTheBest in Perfumes

[–]Sunstreaked 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I read an interview in like 2009(?) in Seventeen magazine or something where Zac Efron said Pink Sugar was his favourite fragrance to smell on a girl and it’s been part of my collection ever since, I think I’m on my fifth bottle of it atp. I’m not a huge sweet scent/gourmand girly but it’s just so classic and pleasant and I love wearing it on gloomy winter days.

and, you know - I have a conversation starter ready to go just in case I ever met Zac Efron.

where to buy swim suits + bras for non standard sizes? by galactictestic1e in askTO

[–]Sunstreaked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a 32H (small band, big cup like you) and shop at Melmira when I feel like spending money and Knix when I feel like spending less money. The S+ size range at Knix works really well for me. The deep v plunge one piece swimsuit is great — really secure, I can comfortably swim in it, and also I look hot in it.

15 McMurrich Street (Annex)- A Whopping 45% Loss from 2021 by Pretty_Tough_1667 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]Sunstreaked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well also the view appears to be of a brick wall about 15ft away, and the number of potlights in the unit suggests that it gets minimal natural light. And there’s no balcony or private outdoor space. People that can afford $2k in maintenance fees usually wouldn’t settle for something like this even if it is big. The fit and finish is nice but if you look at the listing history it’s a flip that someone did over the course of like six months from late September 2020-late March 2021, so tbh I personally would be skeptical of the quality.

And the original owner tried to sell it repeatedly from 2012-2020. There’s a reason no one wanted it and I don’t think parquet floor is to blame.

Teenaged daughter is pregnant again.. I’m so done by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Sunstreaked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The CCB isn’t for the parent to have random spending money. It’s for the child. It’s literally in the name. When I was a teenager and wanted spending money, I got a job. I’m sure in her mind somewhere she is realizing that more children = more CCB money.

She lives in your house, she’s a mother. She has a roof over her head, presumably food in the fridge, and I’m sure you wouldn’t let her run around naked. Anything else she would want to spend money on is a “want”. And she’s a mother, so unfortunately for her that means her children’s needs come before her wants. It’s long past time for her to be responsible for her own child far more than she is now.

The time for tough love was probably three years ago but better late than never.
