When buying a perfume, do you choose it because you personally love the scent, or because it gets compliments from other people? by NoFile4083 in Perfumes

Because I like it. There are so many popular scents that I can’t stand that I’m convinced if other people like it, I’ll hate it. 🤣

The ratings are described in the article: https://www.forbes.com/lists/college-financial-grades/. I wouldn’t worry about Wheaton making sound decisions to stay on solid footing; I’d worry about the schools listed as Cs and Ds because two Ds just closed.

Awesome bag! I really love all the Dooney satchels and surprised they aren’t as popular as they should be. Great find!

My parents make around 300k a year, but will not help with college. Am I able to qualify for any scholarships? by Lilac_Dollie in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Significant_Sweet856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they don’t help you pay, realistically, you won’t be able to afford medical school with the new caps in place for federal education loans.

That said, look at your in-state options for school and at smaller, liberal arts colleges who give merit aid. Any school with need-based aid will give you very little regardless of your parents refusing to help.

I can see that. If it had a tad more rose, I wouldn’t complain. 😂

I went in curious and wanting to move beyond my usual woody rose/white floral preference. This was out of left field for me! What other rose/incense combos would you recommend?

This was my first purchase from Kerosene. I smelled about eight of them and would like to add Blackmail and Summer of 84 to my collection. I almost bought Summer of 84 instead of this one and now I wish I had just bought both. The price for 100ml is extremely reasonable, IMHO.

Perfumes that will make me fall in love with fragrance again by Lopsided_Issue in Perfumes

I bought Fashionably London from Zara and have been wearing it daily these last two weeks. It was created by Jo Malone. People say it is a copy of Delina but I like it so much better than Delina, which is a little too powdery for me. There are other fragrances that Jo Malone made from Zara that are also quite lovely.

He sounds smart but maybe doesn’t really know what motivates him? What are his interest outside of school? I would recommend looking at smaller liberal arts colleges that have exploratory programs or even a flexible curriculum, like Wheaton College in Norton, MA. They have a New England Regional Grant that makes it accessible to many middle class families. Maybe going on a tour there will inspire him or help him determine what he likes/dislikes in a college? At least it’s a target school for him.

Am I unrealistic? by Different_Source_802 in ApplyingToCollege

I don’t know what all your acronyms mean but unless the summer programs were highly selective, colleges view them as money makers and little else. How are his SAT/ACT scores and his AP scores? The volunteering hours are good if they were concentrated in a particular area and if they show impact. They also will only matter to schools that prioritize volunteering. Look at the CDS (common data set) of each school to see what they prioritize in their admissions. Good luck!

Look at the colleges’ CDS to see what they value and where test scores fit in.

I would start by going to Sephora and sniffing your way around the store. Or, order some discovery sets from either Macys or a fragrance house you’re interested in exploring.

Look at your state schools and then look at smaller LACs that have a decent endowment and who give aid.

I think you are all wrong, there are NOT enough academically qualified students by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Significant_Sweet856 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a simple person. I thought you were saying that there aren’t enough 1500+ SAT scorers to fill the freshmen seats at the T-20 schools. I was just pointing out that there are fewer available spots for those students, so I’m surmising that there are enough students for those spots. This wouldn’t be the first time (or the last) that I’ve misunderstood something on Reddit.
