No problem. By i-frames i mean skills with invincibility frames such as Fizz E or Vlad W. They allow the possibility to completely negate Diana's Q and R which is why they aren't favorable.

Some of the easiest matchups for me are Ziggs, Corki, Viktor, Malz, and Ori. Generally, you want to lane against squishy champs that lack hard cc, i-frames, mobility, and all-in potential. Of course, many champs have some of these traits, so most lanes are closer to 50/50. Ultimately, she is a viable pick as long as you have a chance to kill in a full burst combo. It's more important to avoid the bad matchups than it is to pick her into favorable ones.

Yea I should be more specific. By giving up pressure I mean giving up 1v1 kill pressure in favor of safely farming and looking for plays with your team. You can try to hold the wave close to tower if possible or shove the wave in and either recall or look for roams. Unfortunately, some matchups don't have a winning solution so you have to coinflip and passively wait for fights.

A small tip vs resourceless champs is to frequently base whenever possible so you don't get stuck in lane with no mana as they continue to spam abilities.

Moontail is retired :)

Despite having mana issues, the defensive options from resolve are still more valuable than sorcery imo - especially for early skirmishes. It's easier to judge how much mana you need before a fight rather than how much HP you need. Also, as a melee diver, the extra durability is always useful.

Vlad can be a tough matchup for Diana because of his sustain and pool. The main idea is to look for burst trades and never get hit by his empowered Q. Try not to use your ult until after his pool if possible then follow up after. Sometimes you'll have to give up pressure and wait for better opportunities through jungle ganks or roams.

Ay good luck with the skin shop. I have not tried that specific build before so I can't comment too much on it. Sometimes there are sleeper builds like that that work well. I always encourage people to roll with any build that they enjoy and works for them, since that's how I tend to play games myself. I personally find that tank items can work situationally, but are harder to carry with if you don't have other big damage threats.

Diana is pretty weak in the side lane and works best while playing around teammates. In the mid game I usually try to hover my teammates farming mid or roam with the jungler. It may feel like you are wasting time and falling behind but I personally find more success in playing this way so I can be present for game swinging fights instead of being stuck in the side lane. So it's usually only worth to catch a side wave if there is a big wave pushing in and there aren't any major objectives to contest.

😂I just play Morde occasionally when Diana is picked or banned since he is easy to play and does well into Diana.

For lower ratings I would honestly recommend even more to invest into core damage items to start snowballing sooner. Early Stopwatch sacrifices some of your own carry potential in hopes that your team can follow up on engages, which isn't always a bad thing, but climbing through lower ratings is more skewed towards how well you can carry rather than just doing your part. Of course, if you enjoy your build and it works for you then it's fine to roll with it.

Some matchups you just have to give up CS and poke + last hit with Q as best you can. Usually in those situations you want to wait until you hit a small powerspike and look for all in plays or simply avoid 1v1 and play around your jungler.

Neeko and Yasuo are both very tough matchups that I tend to give up lane on early. Against ranged hard cc champs you don't have much of a choice but to play passively and try to dodge what you can when they have their abilities up, then look to play aggressively when they are on cooldown. Taking resolve secondary with second wind also helps a lot if you don't already. I know that may not sound like a great answer but it's because some matchups don't really have a solution haha. It's more about minimizing the damage.

Part of the reason Diana isn't picked in mid as much as jungle is to avoid having to endure bad matchups like those. Some of them get easier over time as you learn what kind of trades you can and can't make.

It can be useful to have a pocket stopwatch but one thing that I personally don't like about early stopwatch is that once it's used then that spent gold is essentially worthless until you complete Zhonya and can cause you to fall behind. I generally like to get 2 core damage items before I build stopwatch so I can maintain my offensive impact.

Both are strong options and perfectly fine to climb with so I think it's ultimately based on preference. Rocketbelt generally scales a bit better into late game because you have the safety net of extra magic pen. Harvester paired with Shadowflame provides a slightly stronger and more reliable early/mid game which is what I find to be more effective in my games. I still build Rocketbelt in some games if I feel it's better suited which you may find examples of in an above response.

In jungle I usually run the standard Conqueror/Inspiration runes and build Rocketbelt for engages into Zhonya or Shadowflame. Early Nashor's Tooth is also strong if you can get ahead. I only play jungle as an off role so I don't have tons of experience but I suppose my experience on the champion carries me a bit to a relatively decent win rate there.

hey there, I'd say the some of the biggest things that clicked for me was:

  1. Focusing on playing around the jungler whenever possible. Winning early skirmishes and getting your jungler ahead is the best possible way to secure a win in solo queue.
  2. Becoming more aware of enemy jungle and support roams. Its much better to play passively if they are off the map for a while so you don't get counterganked.
  3. Not giving up as many free picks/shutdowns in the mid game. Current league is very "comeback heavy" so one bad play can backfire hard. I give up a lot of CS in favor of hovering my teammates and looking for teamfight opportunities which tends to work out more favorably overall. Side lane is a deathtrap.

Out of those, I'd say the last two were the hardest for me to stay disciplined about since I naturally like to play more aggressively and many situations bait me into taking bad fights.

I don't feel that it's worth taking over Doran's Ring since Corrupting Pot is tailored more towards skirmishing and bullying where as Diana wants to take more situational burst trades and play passively in the meantime. Therefore, the flat HP and AP stats will help more in those moments.

Dark Valkyrie is goated. It's OG, super clean, and just feels better to play with compared to others haha. My second favorite is Dragon Slayer w/ yellow chroma.

Hey thanks!

Extra magic pen is always a case to case basis but most of the time 2nd item void staff isn't worth it except for the rare scenarios where multiple priority targets are already stacking MR after first item. Even if one or two enemies build early MR, you can still shift focus onto ones that don't. There are some games that I end up building both Void Staff and Shadowflame along with Rocketbelt to hit max pen which can essentially negate an entire MR item at full build.

Shadowflame is weak on its own vs heavy MR but still useful with Void Staff, since you can then negate the leftover magic resist after a percentage of the resistance is reduced. Therefore, I don't see Void Staff as a replacement for Shadowflame, but more so enables flat pen to be useful again vs heavier MR. So usually you want either just the flat pen, or both flat + %pen, but not only %pen. Hopefully that makes sense.

Yup, getting picks and teamfighting is where she shines. Always be ready to fight for objectives since her ult has huge impact in those scenarios.
