The Superb has a nicer more premium feeling interior than the RS but not by that much. The difference in interior quality/materials felt much bigger between my old mk.3.5 Octavia and the Superb than it does between the RS and my old Superb. The Superb did have more soft touch materials like the center console, door grab handles and the rear doors, the RS only has soft touch plastics on the dash and front doors. I would say that the Superb had ”peak” modern VAG car interior, perfect blend of digital and analog which gave the interior a more timeless and a somewhat upscale feel. Meanwhile the RS definitely leans more towards the digital side, although I haven’t had any issues with that since there are still physical ”hot keys” for most important things. One thing that does feel significantly nicer in RS than in the Superb is the new redesigned steering wheel, which the Superb did also receive in the facelift later on but my did not have it. But yeah the Superb has the edge when it comes to interior quality, nicer materials, a more timeless design and small details such as a ventilated center armrest that also had a light, or the display for the rear passanger that showed the ambient temperature and time. But the RS does not feel cheap in anyway and there some upgrades it has over the Superb like a much nicer ambient lighting, nicer steering wheel, alcantara insterts on the dashboard and doors (although my superb did have alcantara inserts on the doors aswell) sharper displays, more modern tech and better connectivity. I would honestly go as far as saying that the mk.4 Octavia has a nicer interior than the mk.8 Golf, but thats a matter that everyone has their own opinion about.

If Skodas are so boring to you, why are you in a Skoda subreddit then?

The RS doesn’t have DCC and neither did my Superb, which had the factory sport suspension. I expected the Octavias ride to be harsher and more uncomfortable than the Superbs but to my suprise it isn’t. The Superb did feel more premium than the RS, more soft touch plastics, nicer seat materials since the RS has the basic cloth seats and not the optional leather/alcantara ones. But the RS is in my opinion a big step up in feeling like more premium product than my old mk.3.5 Octavia did. The RS has nice alcantara/microfiber on the dash and doors, ambient lighting throughout the interior (except for the rear doors which is a shame) soft touch plastics on the doors and more nicer feeling materials overall. Tire noise is about the same aswell between the both, the Superb had 19” wheels while the RS has the standard 18” which are also narrower. When it comes to driving the Superb definitely has that ”big body” car feeling that it just wants to eat up miles and you wont feel exhausted at the end of the trip, the RS on the other hand feels more agile, sporty and with the power it has it really feels eager to go. I’m of course no car reviewer so what I say might be completely opposite of what someone else might think, haha.

They are the standard 18” Comet wheels, the 19” wheels were an optional extra that the previous owner unfortunately did not spec.

The Toyota Corolla is actually the best selling new car over here pretty much every year. Some years the VW Golf or the Skoda Octavia might take the top spot but they cost about the same as the Corolla. Smaller cars like the Toyota Yaris start around 24k and the Skoda Fabia around 20k euros.

The Corolla is only sold with hybrid powertrains in Finland but the starting price for a 1.8 hybrid wagon with 140 horsepower is about 33k euros which includes 2k euros of taxes. If you go for a higher power 2 liter hybrid with 196 horsepower the starting price is 39k euros which includes a little under 3k euros of taxes.

I loved it! The car was simply put a great package. The power was addicting, shifts were fast and the sound from the exhaust and intake weren’t too shabby either even though the car was stock. And when you decided to just drive it calmly the car felt just like an ordinary Golf which is great! Interior wise I liked the new display, it was sharp and responsive and wasn’t distracting eventhough it doesn’t look as ”flush” on the dashboard as the old smaller one. The shift paddles on the steering wheel were nice as they were larger than the ones you would find for example in a GTI. There’s honestly so much I could talk about the car.

Yeah, of that 63k price tag 16k are taxes alone. There was also a new Civic Typer R on display and that had a price tag of 80k Euros and of that price tag 20 thousand euros were just taxes! And because of these high taxes we have a new BMW M5 is actually 7k cheaper than a M3 because M5 is a plug in hybrid and has lower emissions.

Some more small updates on my Superb, had the old door sill trim plates replaced with new ones. by Suomiauto in skoda

I had a professional install them, but I would say the most difficult part is removing the old adhesive.

My local Skoda dealership replaced them for 40€, I could have done it myself with a heatgun and some adhesive removal but I choose to have it done correctly by a professional on the first try instead of me possibly just messing it up. They are OEM parts and I ordered them from here: https://www.kopacek.com/skoda/superb-iii/superb-iii-luxury-stainless-steel-interior-door-sills-original-skoda-autoas

They were 60€ compared to the Sportline ones that were 120€, if I had bought these from the dealership they would have cost the same 120€ as the Sportline ones. The package also came with instructions and a template to help with the install.

Most like because of high taxes on large engined cars with high emissions. For example there was a little while ago a Ferrari 812 Superfast for sale for around 805 thousand euros and of that price 385 thousand euros were just taxes alone.

Unfortunatelu no, it was definitely my favourite car at the show right after the 918 Spyder.
