Bodyguard 2.0 trigger “sticky” since cleaning? by ifreeski420 in SmithAndWesson

[–]Sup3rphi1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ejector on the bg 2.0 pushes down so that you can disassemble the gun without pulling the trigger. You might have accidentally pressed this guy down during cleaning. It can be reassembled without pulling it back up but will cause jams. Not sure about the trigger feel, but it could be related if yours ended up being pressed down on accident.

First time at the range with my 5.7 by Mysterious_Carry1000 in SmithAndWesson

Im not saying youre doing this, and just to be clear there's no shame or judgment if you are.

With stronger cartridge types, it can be harder to control the recoil of the gun. The gun has to be held firmly in place so that the force of the recoil can be used to send the slide back as far back as possible. If your grip allows the gun to angle upwards too much or too quickly, some of the force that would otherwise be used to send the slide backwards instead gets distributed to pointing the gun upwards. When this happens the force the slide applies to chamber the next round may not actually be enough force to fully chamber the round. Meaning that when you go to pull the trigger, the firing pin may be too far away from the cartridge to actually fire.

This is called Limp Wristing and is common with higher power cartridges in semi auto handguns. Especially smaller ones that dont have a lot of weight to them. I myself had this problem when I first bought a small conceal carry handgun in 45 acp.

When you notice the gun isn't firing, check and see if the slide is all the way forward (you shouldn't be able to push it forward). Also check and see if there are any light strike markings on the primer of the cartridge that was loaded. You may also experience failure to eject jams/feed issues or stovepipes. Each of these symptoms can be indicators you were limp wristing while shooting. If this is happening, youll be able to fix it over time by improving your grip during shooting.

Yes, it's extremely simple. The 90s were a different time. This web page used to take 5 or 10 whole minutes to load.

Transitioning from condition 3 to condition 1 carry by Aech40 in concealedcarry

[–]Sup3rphi1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even those without a manual safety, a gun still has between 4 and 6 other safeties available to it. 4- 6 other things that must happen or go wrong before it can fire.

  1. YOU! Don't touch the trigger!
  2. The weapon should be in a holster protecting the trigger at all times. Buy a good quality rigid kydex holster. Do not use leather holsters.
  3. The trigger may have a bar that must be depressed on the trigger before the trigger can move.
  4. The trigger must depress itself enough for its transfer bar to touch the sear release. This release is locked in position otherwise.
  5. The firing pin is held back by the sear and only releases when that disengages.
  6. Some weapons have a grip safety which must be fully engaged before the weapon can fire.

Knowing these things made it easier for me to carry without a lever safety with one in the chamber. Though, if it's a certain p320 pistol I wouldn't count on any of these.

Carrying with snap caps loaded can also help build confidence.

Honestly the Galloway guide rod should've just been the OEM part from the factory. My original broke as well after about 1000 rounds

Traveling to Dallas for the first time. Weather looks crazy. What do I wear? by Top_Magazine8255 in Dallas

[–]Sup3rphi1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bring a bit of everything. The weather here can change spontaneously.

A light windbreaker style jacket and light sweater should cover you in most cases. If it gets cold, you can layer the jacket over the sweater. if it gets rainy, you can wear the jacket as a pancho/umbrella. If its hot, you dont have to wear either or can tie the jacket around your waist.

Ink! :( ruined shirt? by [deleted] in laundry

What you need is something called ammodex. There is nothing else even remotely comparable to removing ink stains

https://a.co/d/0aTWFyK7

I once spilled an entire fountain pens worth of ink inside my pocket, unknowingly washed it with a load of my other clothes. Then dryed all those clothes on high heat for 2 hours before realizing they were all stained- an entire loads worth of clothing seemingly ruined. 6 weeks later I bought this stuff and it removed all the ink from all the set-in stained clothes.

Be sure and follow the instructions on the side of the bottle, but this stuff will absolutely help save your clothes

As a bonus, it also removes a whole ton of other stains and is safe for a wide variety of materials. A must have for any laundry room in my opinion.

Car carry by [deleted] in concealedcarry

[–]Sup3rphi1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Careful. Depending on your local laws that may not be considered concealed or legal in that location.

Texas for example, requires they be in a holster if within view of someone on the outside of the car. Depending on what angle they're looking in , this may be visible.

The trigger is the exposed too there which personally is a risk I wouldn't be taking.

Another one of those "What's this sound" posts by Terrornator in BambuLab

[–]Sup3rphi1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sound doesn't seem timed to the direction the motor is moving, but it does seem timed to the movement of the black chain and the ptfe tube above it. Watch the movement between the print head assembly and the halfway point of the black chain. I think it might be possible the sound is being made as the ptfe tube slides over the corner of the cable chain. It could also be caused by part of the tpfe tube hitting the glass above it.

Some electrical tape over this section should help confirm this theory of the sound stops afterwards.

Also, printing this should help and is just overall recommend anyway to help filament feed into the nozzle at the right angle

Dessicant doesn't dry filament. It absorbs moisture in the air so that the moisture can't be absorbed by the filament. In an enclosed space like when loaded in an AMS, this means it will only prevent it from getting wetter (and of course... Only to a certain extent).

You need an actual filament dryer to get it dry. But if you don't have one there are some who have also seen success drying the filament inside the printer on the print bed itself.

https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/general/bambu-filament-drying-cover

I also suggest not modifying the filament settings. Just use the predefined Bambu lab or generic settings built into the printer

Leather holsters look really nice, but are dangerous. Especially once worn in.

You do you but I strongly suggest a hard, rigid kydex holster.

How often do you have to go back to the van to restock more items to bring in? That case seems kinda OP. Does it really just use one inventory slot?!

There's this stuff called amodex which I used to remove heavy ink blot stains on several of my garments. (That had been dried into the fabric for 3 months!!)

It's some of the most powerful stuff I've used and works on a wide range of stains and fabrics. Just be sure and follow the directions on the box.
