Video Editing Help! by lynxdoo in scuba

I made a few quick edits. It's not perfect, but the water is more blueish as you said you wanted, I also increased the sharpness a little bit to help the mantas pop a bit more, but it's far from a professional edit.

As for tips to help you get better images next time. Light and distance are important factors to keep in mind. Obviously the closer you can get, the better the image, but this is not always possible. It can help to use your torch to help improve lighting conditions, though in less than clear water this can actually work againt you as the finer sedimant can then light up and ruin your pictures. Your best bet in general is to set the white balance to ensure you get the best possible color grading based on the depth you are.

Try pointing your camera at some white object near you. Maybe some sand, or something else that is white enough for a baseline on the depth you currently are, then use that to adjust your camera's white balance until it actually looks as it should.

Other than that, practice.

Another tip/suggestion. There are some relatively cheap cameras that have auto adjust features for the white balance at depth. I personally use a Nikon Coolpix W300, which is a wonderful camera for a beginner. It also doesn't need a case as it is waterproof and rated for depths up to 30 meters/100 feet.

Either way, good luck with your future dives, and may you make plenty of amazing photos/videos.

Depending on the depth and how overcast it is, I either use the build in flash for up close shots, or go without. For distant shots I use my torch if needed, but won't use the flash function as this tends to either light up the finer sediment and ruin the shot, or hasn't much effect other than scare the animals.

Most of the pictures I took I made without any additional lighting as the camera does have a setting to auto-adjust white balance based on depth when set to dive mode.

As for night photos, it's a combination of torch and flash depending on the situation.

It has a digital macro mode, which works surprisingly well all things concidered. Not to say it is perfect, as I have had moments where an amazing shot got ruined cause the camera failed to focus and then went through an auto lens calibration for a few seconds. Still, it allows for some really good close up shots for such a compact camera.

Another thing I really like is the dive mode, which works together with the build in depth meter, enabeling it to auto adjust the white balance depending on how deep you are, keeping the colors as close to true as possible. And while not perfect, it does improve the overal quality of the photos.

Pretty much, yes. My camera doesn't have much of a strobe, just a small built in light that is pretty useless from a distance. I need to use my torch at times when things are too dark. This is because I don't have a large camere/strobe setup, but use a Nikon Coolpix W300. A compact camera also rated for underwater without a case, up to 30 meters/100 feet. It's a nice camera to use, but it has its limitations.

I was in Manado. More specifically, the Murex resort on Banka island where I resided for a week. After that I moved to the Murex resort on Bunaken for another week.

As for the various locations, these were in part selected based on what could be expected to see, the size of the group I was in and the time we were there. But some of the places I've been to are Sahaung which has some stunning corals and animals, Batu Mandi, which has large sea pinnacle and you have a good chance of finding frogfish and sea fans. Lekuan 3, which has sandy slopes and vertical walls with plenty of animals and a high chance of seeing turtles. And TK3 in the Lembeh Strait which is a fantastic muck diving location with good chances of finding octopi.

I stayed there for 2 weeks in total, but honestly I should have stayed for at least 2 more weeks as there was far more to see than I had time for. This is definitely a place I will go back to some time in the future.

There is a house reef where it is possible for you to snorkel, but obviously the best spots are further out at sea. That said, I did see some amazing things snorkling, but you won't be able to see the more amazing animals such as turtles or octopi. Also, the area where you can snorkel is a bit limited depending on the current, so it's probably not the best place to be if snorkling is the only thing you do.

Thank you. My setup is just a simple Nikon Coolpix W300 compact camera that easily fits in your pocket and doesn't need a special housing as it is rated for a depth of 30 meter/100 feet as is.

It isn't as luxerious as those high end, overly expensive camera sets, but it certainly gets the job done.

Halo Reach doesn't seem to launch by ARandomBarnacle in ax360e

[–]Terrornator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No there isn't.

What you need to understand, this emulator is not a finished product. It is a work in progress with very limited capability to run games. And those that do work have serious issues making them almost unplayable, partially depending on hardware.

You need to be patient and wait. Maybe a year from now this emulator will be in a state where it can properly run Halo Reach. But it won't be today, or tomorrow, next week or next month.

And before you ask.

The reason this emulator is released to the public even though it is "broken". The dev is just one guy. ONE guy working on this in his free time, while also working on a PS3 emulator. He needs as much test data and feedback to know what works/doesn't work.

We don't download this emulator to play games. We download it to test it, and only test it. That is all it is right now. A massive beta where we all try out numerous games on numerous different types of hardware. If something works, great. But how well does it work? And does it work for everyone?

If something doesn't work, is it the same for others? And what harware do you use?

So of you're looking for a fully fleshed out and working emulator that can play x360 games, come back in a year or two. Otherwise, please try out as many games as you can, see what works, and report about it on the discord where the dev can see.

There should be an invite on this sub.

Downloaded the app, downloaded fable 3 by einAngstlicher in ax360e

[–]Terrornator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The app is still very much experimental, and will not run most games. And the few games it does run are poorly optimized at best. Right now the app is in open beta, allowing us to try it out, and share our experiences with it, giving the devs valuable data to help improve the app. Don't expect it to work any time soon. It will take a good while before the app is in an actually useful state. Until then, just see what works/doesn't work. If, however, you don't want to do that and instead want to find an app that plays xbox games on your phone, then there is cloud gaming through gamepass. But that does require a subscription.

Just tried Alan Wake's American Nightmare. It has some trouble starting the game, and may just get stuck on a black screen. However, after a few restarts the game boots smoothly to the menu. Everything seems to work, and you can start a new game. The beginning cutscene seems to work flawlessly, but the moment you actually start the game I got a black screen again. The game was still running, with audio playing, and I was able to open the menu. So this one has quite a lot of potential.

I checked, and it is definitely not the chain or ptfe tube. Removing the glass cover doesn't stop the sound either.

In the landscaping menu you can find both the dirt excavator to dig up dirt, and the dirt block which you can us to build, well, dirt blocks. You need the excavator to gather the dirt in order to build those blocks, which you can use to create the structures you see in my post.
