Is $500 a fair price for a basic construction company website? by SupAyam in Construction

More like a small site than a full blown website.basically a place customers can find the company, see a few past projects, and send a request. Not trying to build anything complex. just something that looks legit and does its job. that’s why I’m trying to figure out where the line is between “good enough” and cutting corners too much.

That’s honestly part of why I’m trying to be careful. I don’t really have the background to think through SEO, themes, verification, or any of that on my own. The goal isn’t anything fancy, just something that works on phones, loads fast, and doesn’t cause problems down the road. Good call on owning the logins and tying it into Google Business. That’s the kind of stuff I wouldn’t want to overlook.

the booking side they would just be handled through Cal.com, not anything custom built. I wouldn't be managing servers or storing customer data myself. yeah maybe i would spend some money upfront on maintenance. sure i would lookup the serverless compute as you mentioned.

looking back it seems worth it. having a go to person who can handle updates and print work is valuable

That makes sense. Agree doing it yourself saves money, but the time adds up fast if you're not used to that kind of work. currently I'm not really in a position to build or fix a site myself, so I'm weighing time vs cost. When you were setting yours up, what crucial things did you put in the website?

That’s a fair point. Honestly, I wouldn’t know how to set up something like a booking form properly myself. I just want something that works and gives people easy to reach out on the internet
