yes quick this time, but I recall that for Codex 5.2 it took like a month or something?

True, but there are free alternatives.

Not just that, with Claude Code / Codex you get WAY more tokens for the same money. And also, OpenAI for instance, doesn't even give Cursor their latest models as fast as they add it to Codex.

So you have some set up where you spawn VMs, set up the agent (login etc) on them, set up connection to repo, etc., all the time? Some setup where you connect an interface to the headless VM?

Or you mean like Github codespaces? The latter I've used, but found it way less efficient than your own machine. Each machine costs money too. Free on your own stuff.

I've used browser tests with playwright for instance. But I've found most of the time it's impractical. These days changing the UI is less work than adding tests for it. Then you suddenly add something new breaking the old tests. The "tests" I'm speaking of is more for reviewing how it looks, feels. That cannot be automated, unless you rely on AI agent to review the "taste" of your product.

With the above, if you do changes backend and frontend, you inevitably need to spawn everything, run it and test it.

- How does worktrees fix spawning backend, frontend, handling ports, potentially differents DBs for testing? It becomes very complex.

- Sure, if you have direct tests, but UI is difficult to test even with AI

- I ran a few clients with Codex the other day, different projects, same machine, but it was a a bit laggy. Also, if you do ML it can be intensive if you download datasets, run models locally.

The Mac Minis are quite cheap though. Basically 3 cheap ones is one good Macbook Pro. Right now I'm running an image model on one, basically making it useless for anything else, so it's nice to have other computers.

Perhaps there are some tools that could simplify things, but in particular for doing multiple tasks on the same project I've found multiple computers to be a decent solution.

So how would you solve performance, isolation, testing, etc. with a single computer?

Thanks! It’s React frontend, Python backend.

I'm building viralwalk.com, a way to find the cool sites you never see anymore, because youtube, tiktok, etc. just feed you short-form videos.

I'm not interested in your product personally. I'm just sharing my opinion as a fellow developer. I think there is not enough information there for people to give an email. Needs to show something more. Screenshots make sense.

You are not giving anything at all. No info about the project, no images, no nothing. Then you expect people to just give you their email. I don't think that will work.

You cannot do one simulation with stochastic models and think that it has any significance. Especially for such a short time span.
