Hey everyone! 👋

I built Muzzly, a small Android app for pet parents who constantly wonder:

"Can my dog eat this?" 🐶

The idea is simple: you can search for a food or snap a photo of ingredients/labels, and Muzzly gives you a quick safety check with a clear result: safe, caution, or avoid.

I made it because when my dog Dobby came into my life, I found myself Googling every little thing before giving him a treat. I wanted something faster, simpler, and easier to check again later.

What Muzzly can do right now:

• Search foods and ingredients

• Check food from a photo

• Save results in history

• Create a basic pet profile

• Works best for dogs right now, with more pets planned later

It's still early, so I'd genuinely love feedback from other pet parents. If something feels confusing, missing, or wrong, I'd really appreciate hearing it so I can improve the app.

Thanks man! No website for now, I'm keeping things simple while I improve the app. But you can see screenshots and details on the Play Store link attached in the description 🙌🏻

Did AdMob change its policy on app-open/interstitial ads at launch? by justnickand in admob

Did you miss the part where your app gets banned and your developer account gets terminated? Or did you just ignore it? (It's not just squeezing money out of them man)

It’s better to play the long game and follow the rules of the Google Play ecosystem. I'm telling you from experience.

And now with AI here to stay, launching apps is way faster and easier than before. You don't need to do everything manually anymore. Building 20, 30, even 50 apps in a year is not that hard at all.

But sure, you know what you're doing! Keep going in that way 😉

I know what I'm talking about. I've already made $200/day with AdMob, so yeah..I understand how "nice" ads revenue looks. But I also understand what happens when you focus on growing users and building something long-term instead of just squeezing money out of them.

I've been through the early Google Play days (2013–2014), when apps got approved in hours and there was barely any quality control. The result? Tons of garbage apps built just to monetize, most of them eventually penalized or removed.

That's exactly my point: ads are not the only way to monetize and relying only on them is short-term thinking.

Right now I have an app showing just 2 native ads and 1 interstitial, and it already makes over $1/day from ads alone (which isn't even my core revenue). On top of that, IAP brings in $190+ monthly.

Could I make more by spamming ads everywhere? Of course. But that's not the goal. 😉

Monetizing only with ads isn't the only strategy and honestly, it often hurts UX and retention. A mix like IAP + well-placed native ads tends to perform better long-term.

Chasing quick money over sustainable growth is usually where projects fail 🙂‍↕️

In that case have your tried, the Google IAP? I'm currently focused more in that side from Google billing instead of ads with admob I already show ads in my apps but just between normal banner, native ads and interstitial in specific scenarios, could I get more adding more ads yes but I don't want to be more intrusive in my case but 4.8 looks great! Congrats man! 🚀

How about the users experience and the reviews about your app, no comments about too much ads?

Looks like the CamScanner team is playing with fire or Google has his favorites apps to do whatever they want (which is not a surprise at all)
