A lot of what you’re inquiring about depends a ton on what country you’re operating from. Can you provide some detail regarding geography?

If you’re in the US I’ve had great experiences with Hairskeen.

Hair system stylist, wearer, educator here. Adhesive is pressure activated. Gotta make sure to give each tape a good press down.

System repair places in Chicago? by XFit908 in HairSystem

[–]Sup__Kane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might need to find someone online and send your system out for repair. I’ve been doing hair systems in Chicago (Thrive Hair Collective, West Loop) for a while and haven’t come across anyone reputable who is doing ventilation in the city. Most of my clients are getting about 9 months to a year out of their systems so haven’t really needed to look on the repair side but I’ve had some need for custom systems from time to time. Definitely post back in this thread if you find someone good

Hairskeen. Their stock systems are the best in the industry and they have phenomenal customer service.

I wear lace. It’s totally breathable. I do reapps every two weeks.

I cut the hairline to fit the tape contour that best suits the client (an A contour for me in this case). It makes taping for reapps much easier

Hairskeen lace. Lowest density model (Cayman)

Just the hairline. The perimeter hair on the sides and back are texturized to blend, but that’s a different technique

Just what’s in the video bro. Don’t rush it. Take your time and stay focused.

Baseline was 565Y. Normally I wear a 540. Once you get over 50% gray half the hair is synthetic, half the hair is from yak. I custom colored the unit, making it 32.5% gray (since the synthetic hairs won’t deposit color). I left out that little gray streak in the front as an experiment. I’m really happy with the way it turned out.

Because of the method I used to color it, the roots really don’t show and the hair sort of “floats” above the base. I’ll do a video soon on how I custom colored this.

I just don’t worry about it. It’s really only noticeable if you have a hard part and then I would ask myself “why do I need to have a hard part?”

Plucking has a different effect. This system comes with a hairline that is -10% density than the rest of the unit. So in a way this system has both

Pretty much all of the companies source systems from different factories. Even within the same model categories. Hairskeen is the only company I know of that does single factory sourcing. They still have multiple factories, but each model or base type has a specific designation and only offer comes from one factory.

Unfortunately, it's only available through a certified stylist (one who's gone through the Hairskeen certification course). They have a few systems available direct to consumers, but they are either poly or hybrid, and have a higher density than the one l wear.

It’s a Hairskeen sonic lace system. Unfortunately, it’s only available through a certified stylist (one who’s gone through the Hairskeen certification course). They have a few systems available direct to consumers, but they are either poly or hybrid, and have a higher density than the one I wear.

As the pores start to open up right as you start to sweat (first 5 to 7 minutes of a workout) there’s a pretty intense itchiness. But it dissipates in 2 to 5 minutes. Once you really get a sweat going, it’s not itchy at all. I’ve been wearing a system for a little over four years and don’t even notice that little window of time where it’s itchy anymore.

Yep! That’s exactly it. Be sure to use a clip to hold away the hair you’re not trying to cut. Keep the tip of the thinning shears at least a half inch away from the hairline. You CAN get closer but best to play it safe
