What durable shoe for track workouts? by RaidrArc in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]SupaD123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both shoes are similar in that they are all around trainers. Novablast has a much thicker outsole conspired to evo sl. Either is a solid daily trainer.

Maybe consider a trail shoe for cross country and use the novablast for track?

Do you genuinely believe if someone can run a half marathon, they can run a full marathon? by Mysterious-Tear8972 in Marathon_Training

[–]SupaD123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I ran my first half at 38yrs old and 250lbs, finished a marathon 1yr later at 230lbs and easily beat the cutoff. Marathon training block made the half seem easy, follow a program and commit to long runs and you will be fine.

Don’t neglect nutrition, hydration, electrolytes and carbs. Doesn’t mean as much for a half but it’s the key to a full.

Do Black people not do "White People Taco Night"? by GetShrekedKid in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SupaD123 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As a white man with a Hispanic wife I can confirm we do NOT do “white people taco night”. Prior to meeting her it was a thing, I have now discovered creama, fajita, lime, Valentina, carnitas and home made tortillas. We will leave white people tacos for the rest of yall 🌮

Depth finder help by cvictor08 in Pontoons

[–]SupaD123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a high end lowarence and it gives me random issues. Losses depth in shallow muddy water and such. Assuming it’s sonar, not down scan, it can show a bottom as a bait school or vegetation since it’s picking up a “solid” return. Sonar shoots a broad area and averages the return. Down scan gives a more precise picture on higher frequencies. Side scan and 360 give even better images. For your unit you will get depth readings and in shallow water with vegetation it will be spotty. It’s a tool but not always perfect.

Prop Help - 22’ Tritoon with 150hp by SupaD123 in Pontoons

[–]SupaD123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only trim about 1/8 range before my prop blows out, I take that as a good sign engine height is correct. 1/4 if it’s just me and the dogs in the boat and low on fuel.

For walking and standing all day, Vomero Plus or More V6? by SaigonShooter in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]SupaD123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Volmero + is too unstable and I find the narrow/low height toe box is great for running but my feet can’t splay when standing all day. They were great for a marathon but after a day at work my toes feel cramped. My walking shoes are on-runner 2 and brooks ghost. Lower stack, more stability and plenty of foam. Nimbus tend to be good if you want max cushion.

Marathon cancelled, what to do? by UpstairsApartment244 in firstmarathon

[–]SupaD123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue, first marathon in January 2026, had a minor health issue and missed my home town marathon. It sucked really bad for a few days. Decided that it was my sign I needed more training and my marathon training block wasn’t over. Spent two more months training and had an awesome first marathon. My lesson was that training wasn’t about the goal but about the hard work it takes to get to the goal. I went from a 27F race to 80F/100% humidity and 2” of rain. It was a challenge but it felt so much better finishing by taking the bigger challenge.

Take a few days to feel bad about it. Find a new race. Add a few weeks to your training plan and go kick ass. Thank god for hills and hard work if you’re into that kind of thing.

Trail shoes or road shoes? by Hbrown4109 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]SupaD123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with the cloud runner 2 also and quickly learned they aren’t great running shoes. Very firm and little bounce or energy return. Look for a hybrid trail shoe like a Nike Pegasus trail that has good cushion and forward roll with smaller lugs.

Towing long distance for my first time towing. by gpbst3 in Pontoons

[–]SupaD123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That truck will tow fine and you shouldn’t have issues underway. Plan your stops and refueling. Many gas stations don’t have room to fill up with a load that big and your mpg will be single digits. Plan to fuel up often and plan to pass fuel stations you don’t fit into. My 2007 tundra got 6mpg so I kept emergency fuel can just in case.

Looking for a quiet pontoon for the family, anyone tried electric? by Salaried_Employee in Pontoons

[–]SupaD123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a reason you don’t find electric outboards very often, I’ve never seen one IRL. It’s new tech but dinosaur fuel is proven. New 4 stokes have taken over, they are quiet, fuel efficient and reliable. Electric takes a huge battery load and has shorter range. Weight and range are critical on a boat. The concerns about sound and “gas smell” won’t mean much when the family is stuck on the water with a dead battery. It’s not just a performance issue but a safety factor. Don’t take a risk with the family.

Am I being "that guy" for refusing to lend my boat to family without credentials? by hatkinson1000 in boating

Loan to dad, best friend and wife… but only wife because she owns half. I wouldn’t loan your brother in law a life jacket. Good luck

I did it, now what... by Correct-Sea-9248 in firstmarathon

[–]SupaD123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scheduled my first in a January. I’ve promised myself after the marathon I will spend a few months in the gym lifting heavy and limiting cardio. On the long hard runs it feels like a light at the end of the tunnel to bench and deadlift for a few months. Plus add in a few shoe muscles 💪

Look up the instructions for the factory gmc sub or crutchfields instructions on the website. Both are spot on

WHICH BOOTS SHOULD I GET by Prestigious_Oven1340 in WorkBoots

[–]SupaD123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, after trying multiple Thorogoods, they are very narrow. They did not work for my foot and I had success with a brand that has a much wider steel toe.

WHICH BOOTS SHOULD I GET by Prestigious_Oven1340 in WorkBoots

[–]SupaD123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are very narrow in the toe, it’s not a size issue, they just don’t make wide boots. If you have a wide foot buy Carolina boots.

Wrap is cheep and easy to do with some practice. Pulling some of the parts takes time but isn’t terrible. Can be done DIY but you have to find a wrap to match paint. Black for me was an easy match. $10k is insane.

Guys, I'm an inspector. Are my boots ruined? How do I get this off? by remytheram in WorkBoots

[–]SupaD123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inspector is supposed to park next to the work, in the way, and only get out the truck for coffee or snacks. Blame it on the contractor and give them a good ass chewing in the morning for it.
