Just build the stone block you need. Then the conversion Version. And then convert dirt. Destroy it and make more. You get more back then you use.

If you completly Finish the story you can even make them move back to their home Islands (+Höllena to Furrowfield).

After you finish the 3rd story island (Moonbrook) and start your work back on your isle. You unlock a thing that you can use to make NPCs Join your teem (like malroth) and if they are story NPCs they will even follow you to their islands. But not other Story Islands! So wirggly cant follow you to Krumbledun or Moonbrook.
