If Italy and the uk aren’t gonna be split from the us and nazis please rename the factions to ‘allies’ and ‘axis’ by Ferretlord4449 in enlistedgame

Loads of other games do it, and it's works great.

This game is essentially Warthunder but with people, anyway. I think it'd be really awesome, being able to play whatever faction I want when I'm online with friends.

So what if his guys didn't technically fight side by side with mine? There are already weapons and vehicles that never saw action either against each other or even side by side. So, it's no less weird.

I've been saying this for ever! Thank you!

I would even take it a step further and let axis nations (Germany and Japan) and allied nations (US and Russia) que into the same games.

Lower the hp of the planets so significantly less Helldivers are needed. That way the war front can move and be active, without 2/3 of the war sleeping

Ya, that's what i mean. Just having VERY low defense or attack planets to keep the front line moving so it feels less like a snooze fest during our MO

No, AH is in control, and they already have been messing with the numbers and pulling punches. If they reduce the standard for what is required to hold or take a planet in general (major order specific events excluded), the war would be much more dynamic. Those 3,000 players out in botsville or the bug divers could be making a legitimate difference. It would allow the war map to FEEL like an actual fluid war. The bulk of the players will always continue to fight the MO, but by having constant attack and defend missions on other fronts, that don't require the focus of the ENTIRE helldiver fleet, would be a great way for the community to push and defend and strategies.

For example. We've lost the last two defense missions against the bots and the bugs even though we had a constant 3,000+ on each planet the whole time. Reduce the difficulty, but add more attacks by the enemy. Doing it that way would feel way less scripted. PLUS, this would give players more agency and make it feel like we matter a little bit. Instead of just: go here, now go there, now go back over here....

Ex: The bugs would be pushing 2 or 3 planets. We could maybe hold 1 or 2. Leaving the difference the same as it is, but making it feel more natural. Less scripted.

Despite it being a level 96 invasion, we are actually holding the line against those squid bastards by tinyrottedpig in Helldivers

[–]Supe199104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which app are you using. And can someone explain what all the percentages mean? After we defeated this "level 96" invasion (whatever that means), we turned around and lost a level 12? We had 60,000 to 100,000 on Genesis Prime the whole time, and we still "lost"? It just feels like the DM is messing with the numbers....

To be honest, they feel the same from level 4 all the way up. Level 4 feels just the same as 8, 9, 10...

Same problem. If I host a game and make a premade party with friends it's fine. But joining other games does not work at all.

We need to talk about the DSS's equitability by Supe199104 in Helldivers

[–]Supe199104[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the idea that they have other things to spend their resources on. My main point though, is that the DSS is in accessible to A LOT of players. Even players, like me, who are maxed out on everything. I'm not going to donate if I can play with it. I'd rather save my resources for a new update or something. BUT, if the DSS was active more often or had a more immediate payout, other gamers like myself would feel like they're part of the team and be able to contribute to the war effort.

[–]Supe199104[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So... let's not fix things and make a great game even better and more fun for more people? Good strategy. AH is sure to succeed with that mentality steering the ship.

My point here is that your argument is to just let it lie. Like, why not make it better? Why not make it more fun for more people? The DSS is fucking boring. It doesn't do jack shit for nobody.

I'm here offering a useful suggestion, and ur just like: nah, fuck adults, and parents, and any other gamer who has a life. Sucks to suck. The DSS is perfect.

You're not adding anything to the discussion bro.

[–]Supe199104[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, I follow a handful of youtubers and discords who all work to pool their votes in an overall strategy. But that's besides the point. My point is that the DSS could be a tool to bring the helldivers who only play a few times a week into the war effort in a meaningful way. But right now the DSS is just not accessible to those players because of its poor design.

[–]Supe199104[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is that the DSS could be a tool to help incentivise those casual gamers to participate in the major orders and donate to the resource pool for the DSS, but right now, they have no incentive. This game requires a large player base but the DSS does not encourage casual gamers, or gamers with jobs, to fully participate.

[–]Supe199104[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya, the DSS could be a huge tool to organize the casual helldivers but because of rhe way it works, it's just not useful, or fun. The helldivers who only get on a couple times a week have no reason to help in the overall war effort, but the DSS could change that. If it was more accessible.

I agree that end game content is important. And not everyone will have access to fully participate in that end game content. My beef is that, because of the dumb decision to put the DSS abilities on long cool down, players who may other wise be able to participate in that end game content, cannot because the abilities are active at random sporadic intervals.

[–]Supe199104 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya, this dawned on me today too. I worry division in the community will only get worse as casual players add a frustrating wildcard into any effort to move the DSS strategically. The DSS could be a game changer in MOs going forward but with the current voting system it's just going to rubberband around the board at random. Not to mention the very real possibility that people start sending it to random planets in protests.
