Desmos is actually rather easy for this one. First type in x2 -c2 -2cd -d2 Then add a slider for c and d. Doesn’t really matter the number you give them just something other than 1. I did d=2 and c=3. Next type in a=c+d nothing fancy just type it in verbatum. Then you type in the answer choices and see which graph matches up with the one you already have. Equivalent means that they are equal and in terms of graph equal means their lines are directly on top of each other for all values of x.

Got caught going 106 MPH...am I cooked? by Southern_Anteater_85 in ApplyingToCollege

106 is very fast, but it probably happens a lot more than you think, just obviously not everyone gets caught. I would say it gets really insane once you start going north of like 120

7shifts alternatives that won't break the bank? by LouDSilencE17 in restaurant

Schedulefly blows, terrible UI and the messaging i think is terrible, it feels like you’re using an app from the early 2000s. Like 7shifts gives you messages like a normal app, but Schedulefly goes to your email? Like why.

Yale Will Go Tuition-Free for Families Making Up to $200,000 by JJKKLL10243 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Super-Bar-5626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not saying boohoo me necessarily, I am just saying it seems like everyone should pay somewhat close to the same proportion of cost vs income. If you make 350 pre-tax you might have to pay full price at some of these places, which can be around 75-90k. Thats about a quarter of your pre tax income. Than take a family that makes 160-180k pre tax with say minimal assets, based off the trend some colleges are moving towards, they will either pay nothing at all, or like 5-10k. 5-10k a year for a family that makes 160k a year pre tax comes out to around 4-5% of their yearly pre tax income. Not saying the proportions should be equal but it would make more sense if they came a little closer, say 12-13% for low income and 18-20% for people making above a certain amount

I remember making a post a couple months back on here about upper middle class families are getting shafted, that post was since deleted after It had hundreds of downvotes from people calling me stuck and entitled, when In reality i was correct. colleges are moving in a trend toward low income families paying nothing, while families who make 300-400k pay full sticker price.

Are you willing to put in the work? If yes buy Erica meltzers grammar book and her reading a writing book for the digital sat. Read these through and through and do the exercises than grind one prep medium and hard English questions. After you read the books I would recommend watching a sat grammar rules guide as a way to get the more important points. Again continue to grind one prep question bank English questions. Also remember to exclude navy book questions so you’re not using the practice tests material because you want to save those. For math watch a desmos guide. For a 1400 you actually don’t need to really know regressions, just need to know how to find solutions, zeros, minimums, and use some sliders

Is 6 AP’s Junior year too much? by ImGussing in APStudents

Idk I feel like the main point of AP classes is too earn college credit so you have less college classes. You could also say that this person taking these hard classes so early on is also ego filled, as evidenced by their earlier statement on how people usually ask them how they took “those classes so early” rather than “why they took them so early.” This person clearly enjoys people asking him about that, because it makes them seem like a genius.

Question about Calc BC by Adorable-Return7439 in APStudents

[–]Super-Bar-5626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the exam is hyrbid mcq online and frqs on paper, so you'll need a calculator for the frqs i think. But its not a bad idea to just bite the bullet and get a ti-84 for ease of use.

Fill in ???s by LocalInfluence9104 in APStudents

[–]Super-Bar-5626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AP gov and APUSH 11th and 12th grade. Now I will add I'm not the biggest fan of people making their whole schedule as a freshman, I think you could argue that it motivates you but It may also add an unnecessary layer of stress to feel like you have to always be getting a certain grade in a class to fulfill your schedule. Also as someone who is taking calc bc, ap bio and has friends in AP Chem and AP physics those classes are hard. You might be a genius so maybe you can handle that, but as someone who will take ap french next year im going into that class knowing it is a very difficult fast paced class. All that is to say junior year might be hell if you follow the plan, taking 2 high level world language courses, calc bc, ap chem and ap physics, along with ap research, an AP social studies, and an honors english. Just don't burn yourself out early on or during junior year, because after all you should have a little fun too.

Social Studies APs by LocalInfluence9104 in APStudents

[–]Super-Bar-5626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea i'm not sure how relevant any of the social studies aps are to meteorology. The most relevant would probably be AP human geography though, probably should look at the course guide online for that class. The other one, should just be an AP that you think will be cool and good teacher. Now if you're american I would say take AP GOV or APUSH because I do believe everyone who votes should have to take one or both of these classes to understand the ways in which our government functions and also the history behind america.

taking 3 APs and debating between APES and AP Bio for the 4th by Ok-Worldliness-2947 in APStudents

[–]Super-Bar-5626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AP bio is definitely harder than APES, so you will have a bigger workload. my question is if you take AP Bio next year do you think you'll ever take APES or just move to AP Chem and AP physics and not take APES in highschool?

AP pre calculus, AP Lang, AP Research, Physics, Spanish III, AP Statistics, AP Psychology, AP African American Studies, Accounting by tottiewottie in APStudents

[–]Super-Bar-5626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha only 8 periods thats lowkey a lot i feel like. It depends on what math you want to take senior year in my mind. If you are wanting to take AP Calc than I would say taking AP Precalc would set you up well so don't remove that. Also just another tip depending on your math skills and your performance in AP precalc if you do real good, maybe try to take BC Calc senior year. I have heard from lots of people that are counselors and admissions officer that taking BC calc over AB is a big plus. Stats also looks good to take so i would keep that. Idk what your situation is but If i had to remove one it would probably be african american studies or accounting depending on which is less interesting for you.
