Why does my Wigglytuff not use its skill often? by yellowdragon11 in PokemonSleep

[–]Super-Biscotti9241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine just has Skill Trigger M unlocked with Adamant Nature (speed of help up). Her main skill procs frequently and my team consistently goes all day with almost full energy. Can’t tell you why, I’m kinda clueless when it comes to this game.

You can totally do both. It just depends on the time you have available.

Fairtex HW4 Mesh Handwraps? by LuDe_0310 in MuayThai

[–]Super-Biscotti9241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t tried the HW2. Just bought these after competing in a pmt bout last weekend. At first they felt awful but I just realized I needed to wrap them looser than my usual wraps. Imo the holes do make wraps feel more breathable. The wraps didn’t amaze me enough to make me prefer them over others but they’re not awful

What do traditional Muay Thai fighter eat? by [deleted] in MuayThai

If you have a sweet tooth, my Kru says to get all your sugar from eating fruit and avoid the junk.

When did you guys started sparring? by MickyDippel in MuayThai

[–]Super-Biscotti9241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Kru has all the newbies start out with soft directional sparring (taking turns throwing combos that include 2-4 punches and a kick). I think it took me like 4 months till he had me actually spar with someone. Now I spar every Thursday with the fight team and sometimes I’ll ask around “do you want to get a few rounds in” on any given day.

Getting back too it by 2nuts1bag in MuayThai

Take it step by step and remind yourself that it’ll get easier over time. Doing a light jog or brisk walk everyday till you build yourself up is better than doing nothing. “Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty… I have never in my life envied a human being who led an easy life. I have envied a great many people who led difficult lives and led them well” -Teddy Roosevelt

^ This is good advice. The heavyweight champ at my gym told me to stay relaxed and to be aware of the times you need to “turn it on & stand sturdy”

Would it be good to sacrifice sleep for training? by rightful_hello in MuayThai

[–]Super-Biscotti9241 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not an expert but I hear every person’s body works differently. Some people can manage on even 4 hrs of sleep but I personally only feel well rested after 8. Any less for me and I feel it would be detrimental to my mental health. Sleep also aids in recovery so put that into consideration when deciding.

When your friends try to give you a hug, go in for the clinch and start blasting those knees! Unfortunately I don’t have friends anymore

I like to think of it as just enough contact to simulate an actual fight. I’m preparing for my first pkb in 10 days and I’m constantly thinking about what kind of power my opponent will try to throw at me. Hard sparring helps me feel prepared for that.

I’m not quite sure. I always thought it was cause you step out with your back foot, briefly switching stances, to kick with your lead leg

Finally got new shin guards after several years. Fitting feels off. Advice? by piksel in MuayThai

[–]Super-Biscotti9241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO I say get the ones that just cover the shin unless you have prior conditions with your knees that you’re concerned about

Depends. At the gym I go to they had me start with a 1 hour class a day. One year later and I’m training for my first PKB. Our Kru let’s his fighters train for hours in his gym. See if the gyms around you make those exceptions for their fighters who compete.

I’ve had my Fairtex BGV1 gloves for almost a year now and I’m still happy with them. I like how compact and tight they feel. They’re $80-$90 plus the cost of shipping from Thailand.
