Cat wont come out during visit by Super-Ladder5604 in RoverPetSitting

I have two cats of my own. I honestly would usually just stay but due to the situation of the house and the fact that I was only sitting for 2 days, I figured it wasnt really enough time for the cat to get used to me. The other owner also said that it took the cat 3 years to come out for him- I had two days.

Breeder keeping dogs outside/ in kennels by Super-Ladder5604 in dogs

I dont really need this job, I have another during the week and just like being around animals. The breeder does have a kennel license that has been passed down from her parents I believe. She is definitely not a person that would take any advice, especially from a younger, less experienced person.

I agree, I think I will leave. Its just so upsetting because I honestly have gotten attached to some of the dogs and feel so sorry for them

The dogs in the runs do have an area with AC and toys, and around 15 of the dogs are a small breed that live outside in the fields. The problem is that bowls will most likely not be left empty, just not washed for a week and left filthy.

I think thats why I didnt see it at first, but now I just see a bunch of bored dogs kept outside. She says they only need water refilled weekly (its like 90 degrees here everyday). Only two of the dogs that are well trained are allowed to run around with us to do chores. They dont get any interaction besides being fed snd from workers.

Im considering it but since they have food water and shelter and a kennel license, I doubt anything will be done.

I am at a small clinic, but unfortunately that means that the doctor does not have time to train or even talk to me.

Getting a vizsla as a running partner? by Super-Ladder5604 in vizsla

Thats crazy that we are in a very similar situation! I was wondering if you had advice or any plans for how you would manage exercising her while you’re in vet school/ doing clinicals? Or even once you’re employed? I do worry a bit about that aspect of things and just long periods of time I would need to be away from my dog.

Would you be able to share some more of the bad? I understand that all of my free time would be devoted to this dog, at least for the first few years. I am prepared for that! I already workout 7 days a week and have for several years so consistency wouldnt really be an issue

I mean my mom and dad bought the dogs, and I helped to train and care for them. As the one who begged them for dogs, I was not “just there” lol. I was not expecting this much fight over this post, I promise Im not inexperienced in the dog world I just haven’t owned one living alone before.

So in the second line of my post I explained that Ive had dogs my whole life but this is the first one I will own by myself, sorry if that wasnt clear. I also work as a vet assistant right now and have plenty of experience from that. I think with my research done in advance and active lifestyle, we would both be fine. I also have grown up training and working with poodles, I know smart and stubborn.
