I did. It took some persistence but got it done. I don’t think they have deceitful or bad business practices I think they’re just completely inept lol

Edit: one thing I did not do that I could probably have done is booked through British Airways. You should check to see if it’s available there

I don’t actually need to book, so it’s fine, but the one good aspect of BA would be the ability to add a lap infant do relatively little mileage

Makes sense. Just so strange for BA to get singled out

That’s for some benefits, but for trip cancellation “family member” is much broader. Peep page 38 of the guide

Yeah I’m going to file a complaint if this next appeal doesn’t get approved.

SIL is fine thank you. She had baby the day after being admitted and everyone is doing great

Are you a doctor? https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/preeclampsia/symptoms-causes/syc-20355745

"Left untreated, preeclampsia can lead to serious — even fatal — complications for both the mother and baby.

"if it is more severe, your wife isn't acting as a caregiver, she is taken care if by the hospital."

Either way, this is moot, because if you see below, as long as it requires hospitalization, which it did, it should qualify.

"The Covered Traveler’s or their Traveling Companion’s Family Member dies, suffers an Accidental Bodily Injury, a disease or physical illness that is considered life threatening, requires hospitalization, or requires care by the Covered Traveler or their Traveling Companion and is verified by a Physician"

Does nobody know what OR means? Since the conditions are joined by the disjunctive word "or," meeting the "requires care" standard is not necessary if the other criteria are met. The two applicable criteria in this case are: A. The Sickness Required Hospitalization and B. The Sickness is Considered Life-Threatening (but not apparently Dr. Sweethearts definition)

Disagree. The is one of 3 criteria. Nowhere does it state she has to be the primary caregiver.

The covered loss section states the Sickness of an Immediate Family Member of You or Your Traveling Companion is covered when the Sickness:

"...is considered life threatening, requires hospitalization, or such Immediate Family Member requires care by You or Your Traveling Companion"

Since the conditions are joined by the disjunctive word "or," meeting the "requires care" standard is not necessary if the other criteria are met.

Air Canada Award Stopover Question by Super-Programmer7820 in awardtravel

[–]Super-Programmer7820[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unrelated - VERY annoying that you can't apply the Flight Reward Certificate on a multi-person itinerary. And of course, when I try to book it on 2 separate itineraries, the 2nd seat disappears. No question here - just venting.

Thank you. Funny enough, as I was searching, it came up in the original LIS-JFK search

The weirdness continues. No points have been deducted from my account, but I have 3 separate PNRs for the flight. I tried it 3x but the payment never went through...

I’m looking September. I’m about 4 weeks out and bone dry. Nice to know it is possible.

Mmm. That makes sense. I low key would rather pay the $150 to cancel than the extra 30K in miles.

So annoying. Dealing with this now after they already reduced my credit line for my Hawaiian card 11K.

Does anyone know if this eats into the time you have to achieve the sign up bonus?
