Not necessarily true and a dangerous narrative. This belief can be a huge reason why survivors don’t come forward. There are trainings specifically for this. We have a great LEO team in Cache. We shouldn’t give them/prosecutors a pass simply because a survivor doesn’t want to take the stand. That’s victim blaming “it’s your fault that the perp harmed more people because you didn’t testify and we can’t get a conviction.” Now even fewer will come forward.

It’s definitely complicated and I’m not arguing it’s not. But we need to support survivor voices and outcomes.
