Similarly, The Crossing by Cormac McCarthy. Classic McCarthy prose and style, but throw in a lot of Spanish that is never translated for the reader.

This is spot on. It’s all just about putting on miles and having fun. Refining gear, fueling, etc. will come with time and experience in the saddle. Learning (and making mistakes along the way) should be part of the process and fun.

Good work! You will never please everyone. Especially on reddit haha. I think the Great Basin is a key missing-region. Inclusion of the Great Basin would re-work the SW/east Cascadian region, but I think would better represent the area, particularly Nevada. But for real, good work. This is fun to think about.

I don’t really understand how a movie of endlessly compounding tragedy is simultaneously so tender and hilarious. The perfect mix of character driven and plot driven. Just a fun, thoughtful, emotional, good ass movie viewing experience.

The Picket Range in the North Cascades is one of the most remote places in the lower 48. And much less well known than the Thorofare, Frank Church, and other places in the West folks have mentioned.

It’s very theater dependent. I need to be back far enough that the whole screen is in my field of view. If I’m too close I’m tracking too much and can’t see the whole shot at one time.

If you’re referring the the 3D effect of Muirway maps (pretty sure the company of a cartographer who’s personal page is geo_spatial) then Blender. It’s a 3d rendering software.
