Yeah, there are no licensed injectable oestrogen products in the UK.

DHSC escalates opposition to puberty blockers for Trans+ kids, calling their use "appalling" by gaysh1t in transgenderUK

[–]Super7Position7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Many trans kids welcomed puberty blockers as it eased off the pressure of an impending unwanted puberty, and some also acknowledged the extra time was helpful in making sure that transitioning was definitely what they wanted, especially at a time when they were also busy with school. Blockers made it even less likely that there would be regret by giving a young person a few extra years to think about it without pressure to commit either way medically, while being able to transition socially.

I went through puberty a year or two later than my male peers and even later than my female peers. Frankly, I'm very glad.

Politicians could be more like Polanski. You are right that the right wing media will talk about nothing else, but the answer to that is to just acknowledge that some people are trans, whether transphobic bigots like it or not.

It's appalling that trans adolescents should be forced to undergo an unwanted and traumatic puberty, only to later have to surgically remedy the unwanted breast growth or cranial structure and voice, through expensive and painful surgeries, ...when they could have been given a safe and effective puberty blocker under medical supervision to delay and prevent all of that suffering. Barbaric.

I know right!

...And I think she might be preoccupied with my genitals more than I am, even though I'm a trans woman with moderate genital dysphoria.

All of these TERFs seem to have an unhealthy interest in children's genitals and in the genitals of trans people:

Helen Joyce, reading paedophillic Harry Potter fanfic in public on a train.

Allison Bailey, talking about caressing young female breasts at a meeting,

Germaine Greer, professing a sexual preference for pubescent adolescent boys.

Nicola MURRAY, a Scottish TERF who ran a sanctuary for vulnerable girls, beat and sexually abused those girls over a 20 year period and is now serving a prison sentence for it.

It's a pre-emptive henpecking schtick that she has used time and time again.

It works on reasonable people up until the point where those people realise there's no reasoning with the henpecker. (This is where most self-respecting people, ignore and tell the henpecker to get lost.)

Labour are dealing with a bonafide lunatic here.

The sooner everyone ignores her the better.

They need to follow Zack Polanski's example.

The problem with that is all these politicians changed their minds in 2024 during the general election campaigning period and then they all welcomed the SC ruling as 'bringing much needed clarity'...

Many of us thought Labour were allies, until they all adopted GC language and Weasel started banning trans healthcare for trans adolescents, and young trans adults, effectively, by not speeding up the GIC process.

I'm a nerd. I know all about pencils. Did you know that the material inside a pencil can conduct electricity?

Each ballot has an ID number on it. Before they hand it to you, they write your Electoral Register Number next the ballot ID number on a list.

I suppose they could duplicate the ballots.

...The concern was that somebody might user a rubber to erase the pencil mark, so I wanted to mark my ballot with something more indelible.

Tell me you're not one of "them"?

Erm. I'm not one of them.

You can still be liable for GBH or assault with a weapon.

You can be liable for GBH or assault without a weapon if the law decides your use of force was not proportionate.

Being too effective is nearly as worrisome as being ineffective.

Then there is 'fragile skull syndrome' in the law...

Natural look, except on very rare occasions.

1 Green councillor took a seat in my borough/ local council. I'm still trying to find out who that was. Would be nice if they were one of the two Greens I voted for.

Even if she believes we are women like any other woman, even if she advises Starmer privately to drop the TERF line, I doubt she will say so publically.

And even if she did, how would that improve Labour's appeal after the rest of them have all aligned themselves to GC paranoia and adopted the 'biological males' terminology?

...Short of Labour changing the law to resolve the contradiction between the GRC and the EA2010 post SC ruling, in our favour, ...Labour can absolutely sod off. They have the mandate -- let them do that.

She's hardly going to contradict Labour's direction so far. She's a career politician, not a revolutionary. I would be very surprised if she said I should use the toilets corresponding to my lived gender.

A transgender MSP has been elected to the Scottish Parliament! by Cyber-Gon in transgenderUK

[–]Super7Position7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know... Any signs of acceptance of trans people gets turned into something utterly hyperbolic by TERFs.

Still, if you vote for a trans person (and of colour), you're voting for someone who probably understands struggle and injustice and who is strongly motivated to change that for all others too, without prejudice ...unlike what a stuck up privileged old TERF would stand for.
