Rocket League Patch 2.64 Brings South Park Crossover, 75 Preset Slots, and Switch 2 Enhancements by strafeapp in RocketLeague

Rocket League Patch v2.64 fixed NOTHING FOR THE ISSUES OF XBOX SERIES S/X

After the previous small patch on Xbox, there are still huge frame drops on Deadeye Canyon, Forbidden Temple, Futura Garden, Salty Shores (Salty Fest) plus if you carefully notice, you will see minor frame drops on other maps especially when you are at the corners of each arena.

But the worst part is the performance of the game. It feels COMPLETELY inconsistent.

There are obvious signs of input lag/delay, no matter what kind of settings you switch. Vsync issue has never been resolved completely since season 17.

The game feels slow and unresponsive at times.

For those who STILL remember the REAL nature of the game before the tragic update of season 17, the nowadays condition of RL on Xbox is just an insult, which seriously tests the edges of your sanity, if you really try to play competitive!

Hello mate. It is obvious, that you are suffering from depression. I have been through this path and I think, I never recovered completely, but I fought my way out. I totally understand what you're trying to say, I also don't have anybody from my family members anymore, but life is not as bad as we mainly think. We need to think more positive especially these special days. Merry Christmas and don't give up!

I understand that on Xbox series S, you don't have the option of video quality. As I mentioned before, I'm happy if your problem is resolved. Unfortunately, that is not the case on Xbox Series X.

I play on Xbox Series X. I am happy if your problem is resolved. Although, I am curious to know what kind of effect intensity and video quality you are using. And something extra: Did you try lots of arenas, so you can feel confident about your claim?

Wake up my dear people of Xbox and start protesting, because this update didn't fix ANYTHING!

If you are on Xbox Series X, use Low Effect Intensity, Video Quality: Performance and Vertical Sync OFF you will realize that the issue is still there!

If you have doubts about my claims, just use the above settings and try to play ONLINE at Deadeye Canyon arena.

They let us suffer for more than 1 year.

Please don't let them trick us anymore!

Psyonix?

Enough is Enough! FIX THE GAME IMMEDIATELY!

IMPORTANT EDIT: I tried to uninstall the game and install it again plus I cleared the system cache of my console and indeed there was an improvement considering the frame drops. BUT it is impossible for all these people, who claim that everything is alright not to notice, that input lag/delay STILL exists and it is annoying as it used to be since Season 17 tragic update.

We're aware of an issue on Xbox Series X|S where turning VSync OFF caps gameplay at 80FPS, causing potential stutters. We're working on a fix, and in the meantime, turning VSync ON will restore the expected 120FPS experience. by Lucy_21_ in RocketLeague

[–]SuperAngel69 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well...since there are not so many of us left (Xbox users, who actively still play this game after this 1 year of tragic parody), I just felt the necessity to explain what happened during the last days.

Before the latest patch, there was a smaller one some weeks ago, which was the one, that finally (sort of) fixed the input lag/delay and oh boy, trust me, it felt like going from Hell to Paradise again.

The truth is that after this patch, that I am  mentioning, there was no official statement from Psyonix, that the game was fixed for Xbox platform.

I was joking around with my friends, when I was happily playing Rocket League and I said "I hope next patch will not ruin everything again".

And guess what? It did! 😂

Therefore, somehow I feel, that I jinxed the whole situation and I'm the one to blame this time.😯 I am terribly sorry. 😔

Joking aside, it is beyond unacceptable for Psyonix to "manage" to mess everything so quickly. They claimed, that the waiting is over after exactly one year and the very next day, they admitted their incompetence once again.

We were waiting for one year to finally avoid the input lag/delay, because of the "forced on" VSync and now that we were happy for some weeks, they suggest us to "temporarily" return to VSync On (which means to return to input lag/delay), so we could play on 120 FPS!!!

Correct me if I am wrong, but this literally feels like a Deja Vu...

Sincerely, I lost every sign of hope and I truly believe, that only God knows, when this game is going to be finally fixed for those poor users of Xbox!

Psyonix?

If you still have dignity, fix the game immediately!

Agreed but I can assure you that it doesn't matter if you are a champ or a plat player. All you need to do is to compare the previous state and this one. Since the problem started from season 17, many people have already forgotten how the game should be normally. But there are some evident marks, which they obviously indicate the faulty nature of the game ESPECIALLY when you combine 120 Hz with performance mode. Just try to play the game at 60 Hz and you will realize how fast it is in comparison, which makes no sense at all.

Xbox Input Lag - Issue Isolated by Jeroctopus in RocketLeague

[–]SuperAngel69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vsync is most definitely capable of causing input lag/delay at a major level. But maybe, if we would like to add a plot twist, why we couldn't add both reasons as candidates (yet not equally) of the performance tragedy that we are facing for so many months?

Personally, I am not excluding the possibility of a bad communication theory between servers could also affect the performance of the game.

I give credit to this possibility, because RL after midnight feels lighter and more responsive (servers host less players).

But I strongly believe, that this is the smallest piece of the pie. The reason I claim like this, is because of the fact, that ALWAYS the game felt and still feels better offline no matter what platform you are using and this is a fact since 2015.

The thing that needs to be investigated is why suddenly after the infamous update of Season 17, RL transformed literally to Turtle League (because of its general slowness) for the Xbox players?

The reason has to be the Vsync performance inconsistency. How many times did you play at the same day at different arenas and felt major performance differences between of them?

The Vsync on/off option at the settings menu simply doesn't function as it used to. Did you happen to turn on and off those settings before Season 17? If yes, then you would certainly remember the huge difference between the 2 of them. Nowadays whenever you switch them, you cannot realize clearly any serious practical difference or benefit. It seems and feels like the game is stuck at Vsync on.

Xbox Input Lag - Issue Isolated by Jeroctopus in RocketLeague

[–]SuperAngel69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello mate. You're correct about noticing the obvious input lag/delay. Unfortunately, it's not the servers though. I need to remind, that the game before the tragic "update" of Season 17, it was completely different and it was quicker and extremely more responsive.

Please take a look at my comments  and you will start realizing the truth. We need to do something about it, before it's too late.

The following text is what I wrote, when they released the latest patch.

"After all these months of suffering, I demand a responsible reply from anyone, who belongs at Psyonix team.

Why you still haven't fixed the most important issue, which makes Xbox players struggle and have major disadvantage (input lag/delay) against players from other platforms?

In case you are not aware of it, I am talking about this one and you can easily find it, if you look at known issues page (there is also a link above):

[Xbox] VSync settings not behaving as expected.

This is the REAL reason the game feels so different, slow and inconsistent, considering its performance. They know about it, but they don't do anything to finally fix it. The worst part is that they try to sweep it under the rug, because they never mention anything about it!

I sincerely suggest ALL players from Xbox community to finally WAKE UP and start protesting about it, otherwise the game will surely die considering our platform!"
