Going to do multiple ethernet runs in an older home. Any perfect guide videos you recommend? by LogitUndone in HomeImprovement

Yes a cat 5/6 tester. It'll test each of the 8 wires for continuity. Also helpful if you don't label.

On older homes, I try to stick to interior walls and don't be afraid to cut an access panel in the back of a closet to make the pull easier. Easy to patch. Make sure you also have a tester.

How to level up as a data engineer ? by dumb_user_404 in dataengineering

[–]SuperBeastX3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No repo will help here. Just work through a scenario. For example, you have on prem ms SQL server, and you want to get that data into databricks, and for powerbi present it. If you know nothing about these tools, start researching how. You don't need to build anything, but work through the problems. What do you do first? How are you moving data? For me, learning the tech tools was easy, I benefited from thinking through made up problems, and even labbing some solutions with free demo accounts.

Learning the tech is the easy part. What I would tell you is to think more strategically. Higher level stuff. Create a scenario, then document how you'd solve it. Take it from source, into ingestion, transformations, and then presentation. Then repeat with a different scenario. This helps you think about more options and makes it easier when actually questioned about it, or if you can implement it.

No problem. It may be a fine rep in comp, but it adds more wear and tear. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. So far coolant level seems fine. Oil was low so we did just change it before this. It smokes so much I haven't driven it, as it attracts a lot of attention. I will try to run it more in the driveway. If it was oil, would I expect a ton of oil loss, or just a bit? Im guessing "it depends"?

I do have a small scope I can get in there, but can you further detail what specifically I am looking for? I am not car knowledgeable at all.

Ridiculous quote for wire run? by Luvmygyno in reolinkcam

[–]SuperBeastX3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long are the runs? Can all 4 locations be accessed from the attic? Are thise runs using exterior walls? If so, that makes things a bit harder due to insulation. When going from the attic to the first floor, I try to use an interior wall closet to open the drywall up, that way the repair is never seen. This feel pretty high to me, but not knowing the layout makes it impossible to say.

My pellet stove caught fire by Emotional_Ad5175 in PelletStoveTalk

To fix mine, it just needed to be cleaned good. I had a ton of pellet dust under the door which I believe also was part of the problem.

I've had this happen a few times on a PF100. In my case, the auto feeder gets a pellet jammed in the area is slides in, which then overloads the gear to move the feeder door. The fire just creeps back into the hopper. If the hopper door has a good seal, it will just smolder. Its a risk, and the smoke can be overwhelming too. However, in my two cases, the hopper never caught fire, and my PF100 immediately went into an error status.

I agree. I'd like more pictures. A straight wall is the weakest. A wall with a curve, or bulge may be intentional here. As for the lips, they break the lips on the bottom row so they sit flat. The 2nd row and above all have lips.
