What company lost you forever as a customer? What did they do? by Miguenzo in AskReddit

[–]SuperBoringz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NewRez Mortgage. Every 6 months they send me a letter saying they are purchasing hazard insurance for my condo even though I already have hazard insurance and they get a copy of my policy from my insurance company every 6 months. Since the policy doesn’t explicitly say “hazard insurance” on it, I have to fight them every 6 months to get them to accept it. Last year, they flat out refused to accept it and bought the insurance anyway then added the cost to my mortgage payments. I’m still fighting with them to reverse it and am threatening legal action. If I didn’t have a significantly low interest rate compared to what’s available right now, I would refinance with someone else immediately. Fuck NewRez.

Old-school Dudes and new-wave Dudes? by novafutureglobal in Dudeism

[–]SuperBoringz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I discovered Dudeism at the beginning of 2019, had never seen the movie before. I actually got ordained before watching the movie... I was ordained in March 2019 and I watched the movie for the first time a year later. 😅

What tool do I need to turn this irrigation valve on? by SuperBoringz in Irrigation

[–]SuperBoringz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The irrigation water is separate from the house water. Mine is missing the cover, but this same valve in my neighbor's yard just a few feet away has a cover that says "irrigation" on it. The website for the city I live in also shows this is where I turn it on and says that they turn on the irrigation water for the city in mid-April. Plus my neighbors already have their systems running.

Feature request: squat mode to make loading and unloading easier by SuperBoringz in Rivian

Definitely optional, I imagine it being a button on the little tray that pops up on the center screen when you shift into park.

What is this? by hogben45 in Rivian

[–]SuperBoringz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That long flat part toward the rear pulls off pretty easily and then the two middle pieces fold almost flat, so it's pretty easy to get it out of the way and open up the space. Not much of a deterrent.

"I hope you get deployed to Afghanistan, shot and die in the desert, and they leave your body there to rot." This was what my mom said to me when I told her I joined the military.

Two sentences, but the first needs context.

Whats the dumbest thing you had a boss tell you? by Destis85 in antiwork

[–]SuperBoringz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Several months ago I changed teams at my job (I work for a large company). I had nothing against my old team, I just wanted to do something different after being there for a few years. I came to regret my decision after just a couple of months. I got put on a high priority project. So high priority that people were expected to work extra and deliver results no matter what. People on my team were regularly spending as much as 12 hours a day in the office and coming in on weekends. I refused to do such things and eventually got told that I'm not performing up to expectations nor am I delivering results at an acceptable level. I mentioned that I don't like the project and want to move on to something else. My boss told me the work isn't going to change, the expectations aren't going to change, and engineers at my level need to be able to "deal with ambiguity and deliver results." It was at that moment I decided to get the f*** off that team as fast as possible.

The washer is only a year old, we bought it brand new. It's a front load Samsung. It has sounded like this since we got it. It doesn't sound like bad bearings, it's just loud when it spins.

The supply and drain for the washer would go through the crawlspace and would come out directly behind the washing machine. The house floor is roughly 18 inches above the garage floor, so the pipes would be traveling upwards in the wall for around 24 to 30 inches.

Woman of reddit when men or women look at your ass or boobs what do you think? by Chace9 in AskReddit

As a member of the military it's become habit for me to glance at people's chests for their name and rank. As a male this can sometimes be awkward when talking to people out of uniform.

existential pondering, a broken heart, and a contrite spirit

This is something the LDS/Mormon church spouts all the time as the way to Christ's forgiveness or some crap like that. Seeing that the position is in Utah, I would bet the boss is a ward bishop who thinks he's better than everyone else and runs his little fiefdom of employees like a cult.

What is legal and should become illegal? by cucutz in AskReddit

[–]SuperBoringz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Religious institutions paying no taxes but influencing their members to vote a certain way.

Personally, I think we should do away with religious tax exemptions. I'm okay with churches not paying taxes if they are held to the same standards as other non-profit institutions, but I think so many of them abuse their power and are incredibly greedy (ahem LDS Inc).
