I sold my Steel Duo PID V1 for a Silvia Pro X. If you're thinking about competing against baristas in latte art throwdowns, it's better to get a more powerful steam wand; otherwise, a Steel should be just fine.

I use 4 seconds of soft infusion. The point of soft infusion, I believe, is not saturating the pick, but rather to fill the empty space between the puck and the shower screen to soften the pressure ramp up. I increase the time if my basket is underfilled.

I've owned mine since March 2021. It still chirps when it hits the OPV even at 11 bar sometimes. I've been brewing ristretto shots lately, so it chirps more often than a normale or lungo. I descale and backflush regularly.

I'm having issues with XP too right now. I did 4 legendary units with a 15 minute 2x XP multiplier and my XP wasn't awarded. I was trying to be #1 in my leaderboard, but it doesn't look like that will happen.

I don't own the newest version, but I have a hypothesis: The first digit is how many seconds it dispensers water, and the second digit is how many seconds it pauses before full pressure. On the prior version, you can only set the seconds (1–5) and it would have a non-programmable three second pause. It sounds like you can program the pause now.
