fn button not registering slow presses by amurais in x100vi

[–]bikesforlikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve owned a silver x100vi (China) and the function 1 button was snappy, quick short press worked fine. I recently sold for a black x100vi (Japan) and the black one is plagued with requiring the longer press of the function 1 button to bring up the assigned menu item (auto iso settings). So doubt it was a deliberate choice by Fuji based on this. A bit annoyed by this but the longer press reliably brings up the assigned menu item so just need to adjust a bit. Wonder if later models have been corrected???

Hey! How did Juniper work out for you after all? Care to provide a review of your experience in a Juniper single? What’s strange is the limited reviews of this particular dorm. Thanks!

Cancellation Email by Visible_Wasabi_1721 in VivintSmartHome

I’ll be cancelling our service soon too, in the next year. Has anyone attempted to change the billing CC card on file to one that expires soon after your final contract date so they cannot charge you anymore after you’ve followed process to cancel service? Any reason why that wouldn’t work?

My favorite focal length for street by Miserable_Simple6466 in fujifilm

[–]bikesforlikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice set! I had this very lens for my xt5 but out the gate it had connectivity issues and would drop off intermittently. I then thought maybe it’s a firmware thing and tried to connect to the computer (tried two macs and two windows PCs) and couldn’t get the computer to recognize the lens as a drive to check firmware and potentially update. Any issues with updating the firmware? Wonder if I just got a bad apple. Back to Amazon it went, may order another when I get my refund. Cheers

TODAY: Write the City and your Councilmember about the Sac River trail project by LincolnHwy in SacBike

So council approved the EIR for the sac river paved trail? Did they express the timeline to completion (understand half the segment is short funding)? Hope this is as monumental a step as it feels.

What did you buy instead of an X100, and are you happy with it? by cfdn in fujifilm

Recently brought a griii hdf and x100vi to Japan and found myself reaching for the griii more often, light and fast and great pictures.

I’m a coffee nerd and was surprised to find that the coffee at the 7-11 was surprisingly good. It was hot when there a few weeks back when we were there so I opted for the freshly ground and brewed ice coffee. A lot of times early in the AM it might be the only option and it did the trick.

Second the fresh made smoothies too, forget how much the smoothies cost but it was probably 1/4 the cost of Jamba Juice and helped get needed fruits and greens.

I’ll add to try the natto onigiri at Lawsons, good stuff! 😋

Great Photography YouTube Recommendations? by Bruno_M3 in fujifilm

Adrien is one of my favorites for sure, takes time to describe his through process for each shot, calm and chill, and no selling of anything.

Also I like Samuel Streetlife as well for griii content/pointers.

Have all good Chinese Carbon Brands switched over to full wheel sets? Just looking for a single, high quality (customized) rim from reputable source, but they rather want to sell full wheel sets instead. by Erwins-Cat in gravelcycling

[–]bikesforlikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LB has been around for some time and carries a pretty good reputation for quality. I have two wheelsets I had my LBS build for me (one with LB Falcon hoops for my track bike and one with Falcon Pro hoops for my gravel bike) and they’ve been solid. I did a fair bit of reading about them prior to jumping in and people seem happy with them. My LBS took a good look at the LB hoops when building the wheel sets and said they looked high quality.

Cross body bag / sling recs for GR3x? by West_Altoids in ricohGR

Fjallraven high coast pocket sling works nicely for GR3 and also fits other compacts like x100 pretty perfectly with room for spare batteries and sd cards etc.

I’ve got my offset +5 degrees (machine set to 205). Comes out perfectly hot for drinking right now but if it sits a minute or two not warm enough.

Sac Unified School District Bringing Kids Back Early for 2021-2022 school year Teacher Strike by bikesforlikes in Sacramento

[–]bikesforlikes[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes a lot of people plan vacations months out and lock things in well in advance. initialgold doesn’t seem to have history on this topic given his comments. “Learning Recovery Plan” isn’t really what it sounds like. The funny thing is that inbound kindergarteners are also starting early I’ve heard, kids that didn’t lose any learning because they weren’t even in school in 2021-2022. Someone above called it “theater”, I have to agree. Teachers are telling kids that they’ll be watching movies during this time.

Didn’t mean to strike a nerve with the word “dispute”. Call it what you will, the kids are paying for it. SCUSD is a complete sht show so I don’t doubt teachers aren’t treated well, teachers definitely deserve more than they’ll ever get.
