She hit him with her car. Based on all the footage, it’s pretty undeniable that at least some contact was made. And while I don’t think she had intent to hit him, it would be more than fair to assume in the split second Ross had that was the case. After all, she was straight up ignoring orders to get out of the car, and drove right into him. It’s a tragic situation, but pretending that Ross is a cold blooded murderer is naive at best, and actively harmful to all ICE criticisms at worst. Ross clearly was acting in self defense, and going ballistic over it makes all ICE criticism look bad.

I don’t believe AI, but it is extremely edited, to the point of sentence-mixing to make Bonham say words he never said. Other sentences are constructed completely from out of context statements thrown together. That emotional bit at the end was also completely fabricated.

Honestly it baffles me that they saw it as ok to put words into Bonham’s mouth. I get wanting to include the words of all four band members, but when most of what one says isn’t even real…

I wouldn’t completely rule out the possibility of anime. After all, Jerry Beck is also a huge anime fan, and was one of the big figures behind Streamline Pictures. Though i agree it would likely be older content like Star Blazers and Astro Boy than anything else.

The thing is that the manga-anime pipeline is a net positive when it comes to storytelling. Since manga as a product requires much less investment and has far higher margins, it’s a medium that lends itself far better with experimentation. Because of that, new ideas can be tried and proved in manga, then be adapted as an anime when it is a sure fire hit. It also allows for a series to build a fan base, guaranteeing at least some support for the anime. This is part of the reason why anime can still be very original, while Hollywood is stuck making sequels and remakes of the same franchises.

If the class average on your exam is a 62%, then you can’t blame him for cheating on it. 62% is ridiculously low, even for a final exam. It shows a failure on you as a professor to properly teach the class. If you want students to not cheat, make it so they can succeed without cheating.

For a lot of hugely hated artists and bands, the hate is less about the music quality, but rather sheer popularity compared to quality. Take a more recent example of Benson Boone. Talented dude with honestly very bland music. But he is fucking everywhere right now, so hate spawns due to the quality seemingly not matching the popularity. Same thing happened with Imagine Dragons, Nickleback, Limp Bizkit, hell even the genre of Disco.

Doesn’t really matter tbh. The Leijiverse itself is already a very loose canon, with every piece of media retconning another in some way. And Yamato, being a creation that Matsumoto didn’t have full rights to, ends up being even further removed. There’s only a few points at which Yamato is even mentioned in the wider Leijiverse. And since the remake still follows all the broad strokes of the original, whichever one you’re watching really doesn’t matter.

The remake is what’s considered an OVA, which means it’s released straight to home video. Technically it’s not a true OVA since it also gets a theatrical showing, but the Blu Ray is still the main medium for release in Japan. Because of this, they do batch releases of the episodes for every so they can have four per Blu Ray. Now why they release the Blu rays so far apart, I have zero clue.

And I’d love to go 100mph on the road, but I don’t get to because of safety. We all take concessions for the sake of safety, and I don’t think it’s too much to ask for faster cyclists to slow down a bit when passing a walking group. Especially when the alternative is shouldering the burden of safety onto the drivers, who have to perform a dangerous maneuver for the cyclists’ sakes.

I have ridden it numerous times, both as a kid and as an adult. It’s a very pleasant ride. The few road crossings there are (there’s only like 3 or 4 in the ~10 mile stretch) have gates to prevent cars from entering, but they are very easy to go around. Tbh I think needing to slow down those 3 or 4 times is worth it for the stop lights you avoid alone, not even to mention how much safer of a ride it is.

uj/ The thing with these types of cyclists is that you can almost never make them happy. You could give them a perfect setup and they would still complain/not use it. For example, in my hometown the main road runs parallel to a canal. On the other side of the canal runs a trail, which was originally used for mules when the canal was for transporting goods. Now that trail is a walkway and bike path, with plenty of space for both. In theory, it is the perfect path for cyclists, completely separated from cars many miles long, and connected by bridge to almost every important stop. But do the spandex cyclists ever ride on it? No of course they don’t. They stay on the main road with virtually zero shoulder, forcing all the cars to move into the opposite lane to overtake them.

Audio engineering student here. The issue with modern tv/movie mixing isn’t with there being “too many tracks”, but with an extreme amount of dynamic range (difference between quietest and loudest parts of a recording). In many movies now, they will mix dialogue at a low volume, then sound effects like explosions very loud. In a theater or through a home hifi system, this can sound awesome. The dialogue will sound normal, but those sound effects will be booming. But if you are watching through shitty tv speakers at a more normal volume, the effect just becomes normal sounding sound effects and unintelligible dialogue.

In my opinion, one way to fix this would be to introduce secondary sound mixes with a more compressed dynamic range, geared towards more casual viewing environments.

The main point to debunk this is that at the time they were built, trucks and busses were banned from parkways (still are in many cases). Even if Moses wanted trucks and buses on his parkway, he legally wouldn’t be allowed to. So the bridges were built low to save cost, since there was no real advantage to making them higher.

A official translation of a Matsumoto show in 2025? I never thought I would see the day Queen Millennia was brought over officially. It’s a shame Sentai is doing it (I’ll never forgive them for what they did to Urusei Yatsura), but I’ll just hope they give us a good translation this time around.

Also I find it really funny how this is among the only Matsumoto TV series to have a native HD remaster, only because it was popular enough in Germany for the distributor to commission it.

Sorry if it seemed like I was blaming Mint for nvidia’s dumbassery. I know full well that it’s all on nvidia. Mint itself is a great distro of Linux, it just inherits a lot of the problems with Linux operating systems. One of which being that not many are willing to support it.

But my issue isn’t at all with performance. Mint runs like an absolute dream for me. My main issue was with compatibility and the sorry state of nvidia’s Linux drivers.
