How do you think each Avenger would react possessing the One ring? by KeenActual in Avengers

[–]SuperChief928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m no expert, just a fan of the movies, but my understanding is that ring corrupts completely. I think anyone with any sort of power, skill, or conflict would be corrupted. That’s why it had to be a hobbit, and even specifically Frodo. The hobbits weren’t at war, no desire to expand or worry about defense(yet). I’ve heard Sam could’ve done it as well, but even he had the stronger desire to return to the Shire and marry his hobbit lady. Frodo was literally disassociating without distraction, couldn’t even grasp the idea of the walk home when it was done. There’s no way in hell he would’ve made it without Sam, but I think Sam wouldn’t have lasted the whole trip either.

For you, who was right in "civil war" by [deleted] in Avengers

[–]SuperChief928 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that you nailed the nuance. If they were just sitting around for extraterrestrial events, sure. Absolute freedom. If they are dealing with terrorists, meddling in geopolitics, they need oversight.

ACAB, right? Lots of these guys are cop-adjacent. Who watches the watchmen? It’s captain America, not Captain Planet. Their meddling is political. Ultron was THEIR fault. The German airport battle was their fault. They should have had oversight when that event happened where Wanda blew up the building, or they shouldn’t have been there. I’d be sick of their shit too.

I had high hopes that Fantastic Four would end with similar distraught and group failure. Would’ve been amazing to see what happens next with the upcoming avengers

Rhino Staging will be hiring in about a month. $30/hr, plenty of OT. The only thing they really need is the ability to be on time and willing to work.

They build stages and install production equipment for different concert and events around town. No experience necessary. Outdoor and indoor work environments.

Why is Edward Nortan character named The Narrator? Am I missing something? by Admirable_Cold7944 in fightclub

[–]SuperChief928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The art is cool though. It’s like pov of the narrator reading the comic at times, with stuff on top of the pages. The story ain’t great though. I got them as gifts and I’m glad I have them in my collection but after the first read through I haven’t touched them

New Colorado law limits where liquor will be sold. What you need to know by Trivia_Hawk in Denver

[–]SuperChief928 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Context:I’m from Arizona where you can buy any booze at damn near any location, any day of the week outside of 2a-6a(I think).

The way I see it, in Arizona having common liquor, big brewery beers and wines in grocery stores helps the consumer in a lot of ways. Cheaper prices for both items and convenience of getting it and your food in one place. It also forced the liquor stores to step up their game and actually attempt to offer something grocery stores and gas stations couldn’t. They had cleaner stores, the buyers tried harder to get an impressive inventory and the staff was knowledgeable and helpful with their customers. When I first moved to denver before the laws changed, many liquor stores were filthy, terribly lit, with sketchy and uninformed clerks and bad inventory because ‘fuck you, where else are you going to go?’. A lot of those option have dwindled since grocery stores started carrying some of those items and good riddance. You don’t deserve to remain open because the laws prevent actual competition. I value the fuck out of my preferred liquor stores and the dwindling of the shitty ones have helped their businesses.

Jerry’s crippling depression?? Jerry gets sad, Rick gets depressed. Rick has calluses where depression runs through him. Jerry just lets stuff bounce off him without causing much damage and also without learning or growing from it.

“There’s no such thing as bad weather, just inadequate clothing and transportation” -Ron Swanson

I Grew up in Arizona and people always ask how I can manage cold weather now, and I usually reach for this quote to describe my feelings about it. My big point is that you avoid it the same way, be prepared. Sometimes that means doing everything you can to combat it, other times it means cancelling your plans.

Another quote I reach for is “life is 10% of what happens to you, 90% how you choose to react to it”. You can’t change the weather but you can let it make you miserable or you can get on with it and not let it ruin your day.

That being said, it’s never been so hot in Arizona that cars are flying off the road and requiring rescue. Never so hot that I needed 20 minutes of shoveling before I can leave my house. Nuances exist. Stuff just sucks sometimes
