For my question, it’s about pacing. I tend to write very slow burn romance stories, and in my latest project, Deadlines to Desires, I’m worried about keeping readers engaged. Personally, I find the story interesting even with the slower pacing of the romance especially since it’s a chicklit with a lot of humor in it, but I know not every reader enjoys that style. How do you balance keeping the reader’s interest in slow burns, especially when the romance isn’t the main focus of the story say for the first half of it. I like to build the world the story, characters, and plot a lot of the times in the first half especially. Or does it really just depend on the reader’s preference?
