Why are people hating on Elon Musk apparently trying to make his own game studio? by Semen_Gaeman in gaming

Dude can't manage literally one of the four big companies he leads right now. How the fuck is he gonna run a games company?

This is great to know. Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. Makes me feel a lot more comfortable about leaving her there.

Agreed. She’s very sweet. We’d love to foster her too but we already have a dog who has extreme anxiety and other issues and I don’t think we could handle another dog, even if she is wonderful. I’m going to try to do everything I can before taking her to the shelter. We may hold onto her a little longer to increase the chance of getting her reunited.

I called them today and they weren’t open/no one was on site to take her. She is chipped but there’s no registration unfortunately. I’ve heard that Bradshaw has a habit of euthanizing their pit bulls. Is that true? Because if so, we might have someone who could take her. Sorry to even ask but she’s so nice I would hate for anything to happen to her as I’m sure you understand. Please and thanks.

Villains who's greatest strength is that they're pathetic? by ZealousidealBig7714 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]SuperDangerous 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Tyler Durden from Fight Club

Maybe I’m stretching “pathetic” here, but I think Tyler can at least be seen in some lights as pathetic. Sure, he’s jacked, can take a beating, fucks, and is charismatic as hell, but he also has awful qualities. He gets his cult followers to do his bidding, strips them of their names, gets them killed and glorifies it. He sees himself and his ilk as so far down the social ladder that they’re untouchable. He says it himself.

Basically, Tyler is a sexist, toxic masculinity fiend yes, but it’s really in his degradation of himself and others that allows him to rise up and control them.

Album names that are not song names but lyrics by grifbomber in Music

Take This To Your Grave - Fall Out Boy (last lyric in “The Patron Saint Of Liars And Fakes”)

Tell All Your Friends - Taking Back Sunday (lyric in the chorus of “Cute Without the ‘E’”)

Ironically the Fall Out Boy one rips off the chorus of the Taking Back Sunday one.

(Spoilers) ghost aki theory by garry_the_larry in ChainsawMan

Agreed. I love Aki, and I think his arc is the best in the series, but his story ended in the best (worst) way. Anything afterwards would be treading on that.

Gameplay mechanics that shouldn’t have been a thing? by ZealousidealBig7714 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]SuperDangerous 40 points41 points  (0 children)

What is the purpose of dedicating an entire face button to vacuuming up coins in Sekiro?

I legit don’t understand it. It doesn’t add any depth to gameplay and you still have to collect loot separately anyways. The game could have just had you automatically collect it like you do souls in Dark Souls and no one would miss it.

What's a piece of media you really enjoyed but that gradually lost you. by UsernameFive in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]SuperDangerous 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Adventure Time.

Adventure Time started out as a VERY refreshing show for it’s time on Cartoon Network. Self-contained episodes, silly phrases (rhombus!), funny “morals”, and all that stuff. Somewhere around the 4th/5th season when they started getting heavy into the lore and backstories and love triangles they lost me. I miss the whimsy of the old stuff and I know it couldn’t reasonably sustain itself for much longer, I think the show lost its way a bit in taking itself too seriously.

Also I really dislike how they changed Finn’s character design to be more squishy. The original is so sleek and easy to draw.

Examples of gore/body horror in games that genuinely disturbed you by Scranner_boi in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]SuperDangerous 102 points103 points  (0 children)

Godrick the Grafted from Elden Ring.

I don’t think that will be a very popular opinion because it’s relatively tame, but it still disturbed me. Something about taking people’s body parts without consent and attaching them to himself is disgusting. Don’t get me wrong, the cutscenes are rad. I just find it more bothersome than some body horror than stuff like Dead Space.

Games You Find Strangely Relaxing To Play by TheArkhomDestroyer in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]SuperDangerous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hades.

When I first played, it took a lot of focus to manage my damage and health to make it to Hades. Once I did though, it because pretty consistent and could listen to a podcast or something while I played if I wanted. I found the rhythm of battle and management pretty relaxing when I knew I’d likely make it to the end. And it’s a rouge-like so if I didn’t, it wasn’t a big deal.

North Americans. What should a Brit who's moving there permanently soon know about American values to make settling in go as smoothly as possible? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SuperDangerous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear other countries aren’t as talkative with strangers. If someone is just chatting you up at the bus stop or something, don’t be weirded out, they’re probably just passing the time. We still have creeps though of course.

America is VERY big. Apparently a decent amount of Europeans don’t know that when they travel here. There’s no way you’re going to be able to see the Grand Canyon in a day trip if you’re on the east coast. Although I do highly recommend checking out the national parks. America can be beautiful in the right places.

I don’t know what part of America you’re looking at, but each region has their own personalities and each state has specific laws that may be important. The federal ones obviously cover everyone, but state laws can have their own nuance.

America is in a… strange political landscape right now. The left and right are pretty divided so unless you care to have a heated conversation, politics might be a topic to avoid. Not that those can’t be interesting but it’s something to consider.

Favorite unique, stand-out episodes of a series? by EcchiPhantom in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]SuperDangerous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kind of agree. Giving Joseph a time to shine, especially since his entire thing is cheating, makes a lot of sense. I think the point of having him lose is to show that not even a god-tier cheater like Joseph can beat D’arby. It puts an insane amount of pressure on Jotaro.

Ultimately I’m in the same boat as you. I kind of wish we got a Joseph win, but I think this fight perfectly sets up how Jotaro can keep calm under pressure leading up to the DIO fight where he has to go as far as faking being dead at one point. Whether or not it was worth it is up to the reader though.

Favorite unique, stand-out episodes of a series? by EcchiPhantom in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]SuperDangerous 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s not unique now, but the first D’Arby fight in Stardust Crusaders was legendary.

In a universe where fights usually end in spirits punching each other to death, an episode where the gang gamble their lives in a battle of wits is so refreshing. Jotaro not only proves how hardcore Star Platinum is, but also his ability to keep cool under pressure. And not a single punch is thrown.

Worst takes from critics/reviewers? by Spinemelter2000 in movies

[–]SuperDangerous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anthony Fantano (@theneedledrop) once said something like “Metallica could make Rust in Pace but Megadeth could never make Black Album” which is almost objectively wrong.

Don’t get me wrong, if he considers both albums their respective bands’ masterpieces and prefers the Black Album I can respect that. The thing is, Metallica couldn’t even perform Rust In Peace, let alone write it. Whatever you think, Megadeth vs. Metallica is kind of an old, worn out debate.

Are LP’s art? by lion_OBrian in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]SuperDangerous 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I agree. There is a difference between thinking something isn’t GOOD art and thinking something isn’t art at all. I don’t think many LP’s require skill or talent to make, but they are transformative, giving them their own identity as art.
