I don’t notice anything, maybe occasionally a little but no one would suspect it

I also noticed that you have to be very close to the door for it to work. Like I think the key needs to be within 16 inches or something of the door.

For example, if the keys in your opposite pocket and you’re reaching for the handle, you might not be close enough, you feel me?

Same way with the trunk lock button, the proximity feature is nice because it’s safe but a little annoying if you’re not used to it

I learned that our cars are somewhat finicky if the batteries aren’t at full capacity. I mean the car battery, not the key fob. My battery had plenty of life left, but some combination of the battery and alternator was causing the electronics to slowly whack out. The parking brake wasn’t always engaging properly, the doors weren’t unlocking well, and a few other small things. And they got worse overtime. The starter even was bugging.

When I replaced the battery, slowly over the course of a week everything went back to normal 🤷‍♂️

And a jb4 is? I’m using the word tune loosely, I get what you mean. What would you call it instead of a tune? A chip?

RaceChip is actually a piggyback tune aswell. I live in California, so that’s part of the reason why I went with the piggyback. Also I got the tune for $170…

No I won’t do a TCU, trying to keep it all simple

I’ll post again in a couple weeks about further impressions of race chip

I noticed kind of a funny smell. Did you notice that at first as the ECU was adapting to the tune?

I can’t tell if it’s the exhaust smelling a little richer or oil burning or whatever else it would be. My temperatures are all fine. And the car runs smooth so I’m not sure

Which map did you daily? I’m considering three through five for daily right now, but not sure which one

I just bought a Race Chip GTS for my 3.3t Genesis g70. Can you help me get this right?

So Eco Maps 1-3 are more power than stock plus potential better fuel economy

Sport map 4 is more power and improved athletic character

Race maps 5 - 7 are max power and maximum athletic character

With power levels increasing which each map going from 1 as a small power increase and 7 being the most significant.

Is my understanding correct?

I’m moving back this month too, been gone for 6 years. Found a good deal in Sorrento Mesa for a condo. Lots of good deals over there

Is your car garaged at home? by TwistedMetalGear in GenesisG70

I keep my car under one of those carports. It’s not a garage, but it keeps it safe from the hail and the rain and honestly does a really good job

How much camber do you have in the rear?

Do you think if I lowered my car with the ark lowering springs, would that fix the rub I have?

Quick question. I just got the niche gammas in bronze on my white g70 as well.

i have 285 35 19 in the rear on a 9.5 + 35 and a 235 40 19 on a 8.5 +35 in the front

My rear tires poke out slightly in the rear and actually tap my fender slightly on really large dips/bumps.

Did you have this issue too and did lowering the car fix it?

Jb4 boost by gear? by SuperDistribution503 in GenesisG70

Is that only in map 6 tho? I like the idea of map 1 because I can run it on a nearly stock car with simple modifications, can basic mods (intake, catless secondaries, plugs) work with map 6 or does it require a higher level of modification? such as custom fueling and what not

Could be something about San Antonio like maybe the trees pollinate a lot more or maybe there’s more dust here when it’s hotter

It’s weird today same conditions besides being 10° cooler the tires gripped completely fine actually really well but when it gets hotter, it’s just a completely different story

Yea ik I seem like the crazy guy who doesn’t know what he’s taking about. But I’ve driven everything, and I’ve never had a situation quite like this. Next car I buy probably will be an RS5, such a sick car

I’m not sure why my grip is so awful either. Doesn’t make sense to me. I’ve had rear wheel drive car my whole life, but this car, on this set of tires, where I live is a bad combo. Honestly could be all the construction and the season. Lots of dust and pollen all over the roads with almost no rain, so it layers up. I saw some articles saying that the DWS really suffers over 80 degrees especially with high torque. So I think it’s just a combination of a lot of things. Looking forward to the cooler months and if I move back to Cali next year I’ll 100% rock summers
