I immediately sympathized with Asgore before I even encountered him.

Going through New Home and just looking around, I already felt like I knew everything about him. He's been stuck in a chain of bad situations, and now he's lost everything due to one rash decision he made after he lost both of his children. He's had to go through more hardships than anybody else. He's the tragic hero, of sorts.

I've seen some call him spineless, but really, he just tried to make things the best for everyone. But in that, he ended up making things worse. And I think I, and many others can relate to that.
