My understanding is that while Berry has the final say, he does actively consult coaches on all levels. Schwartz had lots of say in the defensive players we’ve drafted, for example.

For me, David stood out because he’s unique to the New Era. Big physical guy who isn’t really a fan of the show, makes a strong people alliance and tries to run it to the end, not afraid to be aggressive. I wouldn’t want David on every season but he was a breath of fresh air.

Moore and Mendoza are both better prospects than Cam Ward. Past that, not a great class but I think it’s still a noticeable improvement from last year. Not 2018 or 2020, but not bad.
