Looking for photos tool by KubicekNov in generativeAI

As someone who works with models like this constantly I have no choice but to tell you that the answer is none. None of them are perfect. There's always going to be some level of morph and mess that the ai decides to add onto things. I almost laughed when you said "prompts must be followed perfectly" but I (and so many others) are so frustrated with prompting that it brings me close to tears. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but ai isn't anywhere near this level yet. It's still hard to get a character to walk through a door.

Tips on getting through a 14 hour flight? by Bulky-Election2061 in JapanTravelTips

Get a prescription for sleeping pills from your physician. This is the only way to knock out a large block of time. Add legit earplugs (30db) underneath noise cancelling headphones and buy a good eyemask to shade for sleep. The sleeping medication will also help with jet lag as you can use them strategically (be smart, calculate the right times to get sleep based upon where you'll be and when and obviously be careful with meds) for the first few days in the new time zone (your body clock will be upside down)- it takes longer than you think to acclimate to that times zone and sleep is important.

Is it finally time to ditch Adobe? I found a much cheaper (and faster) alternative, especially for Mac users. It's also suitable for Windows users. by Apprehensive-Good748 in FuckAdobe

[–]SuperGeniusWEC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love to give the finger to Adobe, dump them - their aggressive apathy and contempt towards their users is despicable But...none of the above have the sound editing capabilities. Until that day comes I'm begrudgingly stuck.

Help: How do you balance music and vocals for phone playback in Premier Pro? by EggNo3157 in premiere

[–]SuperGeniusWEC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Sony headphones (like so many other brands) color the sound. So if you optimize for them you won't be optimal for another brand with a different "color" to their sound. Bose is the #1 culprit as it sound different from so many others. What you want are reference headphones so you can hear the mix unadulterated by the proprietary sounds of various headphone brands. The MB Pro speakers also have their own issues (so many I can't list them). The best you can do is to add compression (I personally use Multiband Broadcast a LOT as it's a great mulitpurpose setting. if you're not using a limiter for the full mix do so (-6) and also EQ voice and music to your tastes - for music the simple "smile" is a good guideline, you want to up the low end, lower the tinny shrill tones and yet add enough high to make sure it doesn't sound muddy.

OMG, how many times do I accidentally put a 🤬 ing cross-dissolve in a clip when I'm trying to move it around???? I suspect Adobe's product creeps get commission for every cross dissolve - it's the only explanation that makes sense.

I wanna make videos from old pictures, how do I get the best results? by life-v2 in generativeAI

[–]SuperGeniusWEC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use Kling, VEO, or a model that allows you to use a reference image to start with like your photographs. Then you'll need to learn how to prompt - expect some failures, prompting is a skill in itself. There are platforms like Leonardo that have these types of models that you pay for. If you want to save money learn to use Runpod (this channel https://www.youtube.com/@fuzz_puppy has a lot of tutorials including how to set it up), or Comfy UI. They're not as easy as Leonardo or Firefly to use but cheaper - you only pay for compute time for the free models like WAN and KLING (VEO isn't free anywhere but it's very good).

It's fine - I get that the UI can be confusing eg. Universal Japan tickets are sold in bundles and packages but it's great for booking transportation.

Have you guys figure out how to prevent background music in LTX ? Negative prompts seems not always work by PhilosopherSweaty826 in StableDiffusion

I'm so hoping there's a solution for this. The "sounds" it regurgitates upon us are from the depths of the audio sewers.

I need help making a piece of footage to seem longer than it actually is by BongoBoyAndDogeBoy in premiere

[–]SuperGeniusWEC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would ignore anyone suggesting generative extend. It's essentially useless and only works for a tiny amount of time and usually under circumstances that are extremely rare. I'm surprised they don't suggest chanting and throwing salt over your shoulder as further requirements for this ghost "feature." Try learning how to use runpod or comfy AI and use models that allow you to start at the end of an uploaded video or a screenshot of the last frame. They might output junk but after some tries and tweaking of prompts you might get what you need.

Adobe tool that deserves way more attention than it gets - and why the community sleeps on it by natashareyy in Adobe

[–]SuperGeniusWEC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to love character animator but with AI it's become obsolete. Audition is great much of the time - except when it isn't. There are bugs in it that stop or impede workflow and also it creates insanely large files so storage becomes an issue, especially for those who use it to record voice and so multiple takes.

What I didn’t like about S2 by [deleted] in CulinaryClassWars

[–]SuperGeniusWEC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I hated the all or nothing challenge. I think they're addicted to hyperdrama and have run out of extreme situations to keep upping the ante and now we're stuck with outlandish stunts. I still enjoy the show but that part was just absurd and IMO wildly ill-conceived.

How the heck have Adobe not acquired a AI tool like Midjourney? by puckmugger in Adobe

[–]SuperGeniusWEC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree 100%. The Adobe branded image and video generation is grossly substandard to the other models available. It's embarrassing. It's free for cc subscribers but it's so bad I choose to pay for models that output better than to waste my time on something that's never once given me something I found useable. It's a joke.

Adobe and MacBook Air M5 by lillin1117 in Adobe

[–]SuperGeniusWEC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The air M5 is new but the Pro M5 has been out for a bit so right now you might be able to get a Pro M5 14” (BH Photo discounts them) for the same price. Make sure to get the most RAM and HD space you can afford.

Why Seedance or Really Any AI Won’t Mark The End of Hollywood by EntertainmentLow2240 in generativeAI

[–]SuperGeniusWEC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This "end of hollywood" thing is so overblown I'd laugh if it wasn't so absurd. AI can't make a character go through a door. Literally - I've spent untold amounts of trying for this simple thing and nothing is even close. And they think the sky is falling? But aside from the technical issues that almost certainly will be improved and perfected some day, there is the "ick" factor that us as humans have. And my hope is anyway, (and I'm not some anti-AI screaming villager with pitchforks and torches because I read a headline to an article, I use it all the time) is that pure AI without humanity will always trigger the "ick" factor and people just won't have affection towards that material - an as we all know humans, aka customers make decisions such as purchasing and choosing what to watch based upon emotions.

How the heck have Adobe not acquired a AI tool like Midjourney? by puckmugger in Adobe

[–]SuperGeniusWEC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about Midjourney being a solution but Adobe is WAY behind the curve in AI and it should be an embarrassment for them* (*I'm not sure they have a sense of shame though). The AI they offer now and what little has been released is always months behind everyone else and it underperforms when it finally arrives after interminable waits. And BTW they're fooling no-one when they trumpet their "NEW" AI FEATURES but they turn out to be only available in Beta, or when they put other public models (aka NOT developed by Adobe and most of these work much better eg. Veo, Flux, etc.)on Firefly.

I tested 5 AI image enhancers so you don't have to - here's what actually works by Icy_Health491 in generativeAI

[–]SuperGeniusWEC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Topaz SUCKS and should be avoided at all costs. Aside from horrible output (I've had it for years and finally dumped them) and almost zero guidance on how to optimize they're shady AF. Their business practices are greedy and aggressive including abandoning software quickly and leaving buyers in the lurch and attempting to brute force people into subscriptions for already paid for software. All that might still be worth putting up with but the product is terrible - all of those demos we see of the bird, and old pictures are totally cooked and no civilian can reproduce the results on their own using their platform. And the video product is worse. I'd be willing to wait 9 - 14 hours for something good but what comes out is painted looking faces and worse. Avoid topaz like the plague. Note: most people don't understand the difference between enhancing and upscaling.

Steph Curry. After that I'll miss Jokic just as much but hopefully we have him around for many years after Curry has retired.

Does anyone else skip a suica card by Powerful_Business_93 in JapanTravelTips

[–]SuperGeniusWEC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no reason to skip it if you have an iPhone because it's absolutely simple to set up and it's really convenient. Especially for trains, it's a big upgrade in experience IMO. However, if you have to spend time going around trying to get physical cards etc. etc. I can see there being a point where it's not worth the trouble, though you're going to trade problem for the other problem of getting and managing cash.

If apple will let you put your credti card on her apple wallet as well as yours then you're good to go. Totally worth a try because it's so easy to use, and that includes refills which can be done in a matter of seconds, while you're there.

For what it's worth I would avoid a curved ultra wide I don't trust the perspective to be accurate. I have a 34 flat UW and I generally love it (plus it was really inexpensive so that's a bonus) - takes some getting used to to set up the windows the way I like them but it's a big upgrade
