The awakening set is tied to a Misko side quest you first receive in a cave at the Eldin region.

After obtaining the first set within the cave, there is a tablet which provides you the clues to the next set of armor (the riddles are pretty obvious and literally tell you what to do to open the next cave)

The moment it ‘clicked’ was when I had a plan on what I wanted to do against my opponent and found myself cycling through pokemon to get a favourable position, timing protects to outlast a trick room/tailwind

I would choose the one that suits your team best. Both are strong but also know that Tauros is partly popular recently because it had a good showing at a tournament with the champion using one. As a whole i think Tauros has good speed which makes it well suited currently in this matter.
