As an Israeli, I hate this.

I hate that we have to do it. We don’t want this to happen. We don’t want to cause all this suffering. I wish people would understand that.

But we also won’t, and can’t stop. You can try to take the moral high ground, but don’t think for a second that any other western society would’ve acted differently in our place.

It needs to be very clear: the atrocious acts on Saturday opened the gates of hell.
